| Dragen White03-14-06, 11:52 PM | hi i was wanting to make a PC that soley based most of his abilities on luck, such as taking the luck domain as a cleric and if i remeber correctly a fatespinner class somewhere? However i was wondering if you guys had any idea of what other types of class's where ouyt there that i could use to amplify my "fatespinner" and where i can find the info on them. Thanxs. |
| TheChilliGod03-15-06, 12:46 AM | There is indeed a Fatespinner class, a wizard-type class focused on altering the force of chance to his advantage. More precisely, it is a prestige class. It can be found in the Complete Arcane. |

| Flushmaster03-15-06, 02:00 AM | Fatespinner is indeed a PrC from Complete Arcane. I don't recall any particular reason that it couldn't be fairly easily converted to a divine PrC rather than an arcane one, assuming your DM approves, which would make it work with the Luck domain cleric. Fatespinners don't so much rely on luck as they influence it. They don't "play the odds" but instead gain abilities that let them stack the odds in their favor. The Luck domain does the same thing by allowing you to reroll dice. Combining the two would result in a character that is likely to appear to be particularly lucky since random "coincidences" tend to happen to their benefit fairly frequently. If you read the "Wheel of Time" books, such a PC would appear to other characters and NPCs in much the way Mat Cauthon does; the more "random" an event seems the more likely it is to favor him. Of course in Mat's case, while he is aware of at least most of the "rules" by which his luck works, he has absolutely no control over it. A Luck cleric/fatespinner consiously warps chance to their will. |

Not entirely based around luck and not really a powerful class at all, but at later levels it lets you force a re-roll every round, even to yourself. Pretty handy if you ask me. It's in Complete Divine. |

The Fatespinner increases spells and caster level on one previous casting class, not in one previous arcane casting class. That being said, even the requirements can be garnered through divine means. Requires more work, but it is certainly possible. |

You could prolly just change it so that you are required to have the luck domain and be able to cast 4th level divine spells instead |
