| TheraerTheWanderingBard11-27-05, 07:59 PM | Bard, they pwn everything else. If not then i would say wizard/sorcerer |
| ThoughtShifter11-27-05, 08:02 PM | My Fav. class is the Rouge!! Second is a tie between Druid & Telepath! |
| ^Graff_EpsilonIX11-27-05, 08:32 PM | Monk. As unbalanced as always. |
| allenchan11-27-05, 08:41 PM | First, stop making new threads. If you have multiple statements you can put them all in a single thread. Secondly, use of punctuation and grammar can go a long way. And finally, polls are in violation of the Code of Conduct. Now, please stop spamming the boards. |
| Moon-Lancer11-27-05, 09:34 PM | Elven Druid Not becuse of its power but becuse i can really bring out the inner me into another charicter. Also druids tend to have the closest tie to fey. I am a big fairy fan since zelda. |
| WizO_Cat11-27-05, 09:40 PM | Ok, I'm going to allow this thred to stay open. However, please note that this isn't going to be just a poll - if you have a preference, please list the reasons why it is your favorite class. Thus, this should help aid in discussion on this topic. |
| serow_#R11-27-05, 11:02 PM | Psychic Warrior, Ranger 2 totally self-reliant characters classes |
| syrinth11-27-05, 11:16 PM | Favored class: Sorcerer Reasons: Pretty darn flavorful, very useful, just freaking cool and so very me:D |
| Shazarn11-27-05, 11:37 PM | Psy warior See i use all the power points to cast psions that let me move like a ninja man and them i am all behind the lines with a spicked chain  and i can totaly :dragon: everybody. But i am Dming right now so it"s like "Well :pbbbtt: :censored: that man" |
| Arcen11-28-05, 03:40 AM | Core Class - Monk. Gotta love a class that doesn't use a weapon - They are the weapon. Non Core Class - Warlock. Great for a dark anti-hero. |
| homey18811-28-05, 04:43 PM | I find my ranger to have been my most effective character. They can heal, sneak, and do some good fighting, and they can have animal friends for free flanking(especially good with a little rogue multiclassing) After that I would choose cleric because they have offensive magic, buffs, heals, armor, and since I almost always use gestalt they can use fighter levels to get some better weapons and more feats |
| Mr. Sarcastic11-28-05, 04:59 PM | Psychic Warrior - They're like fighters who can actually meet their challenges head-on at the higher levels, even if it involves spells. Strategy Schmategy, Flexibility Schlexibilty - it means nothing if you can't go one round without becoming useless. (Wow, that sentence is not for the faint of heart.) Alternatively, when the DM is feeling snarky towards "overpowered" "sie-unics" and bans them, Wizard. Sometimes, making other people useless without being a druid or a cleric just plain feels good. |
| Sric_Tyran_Rinfaf11-28-05, 05:35 PM | favorite core classes- Sorcerer mainly because I like spellcasters and sorcerer's can cast spells alot more often then some other spell casting classes, Fighter because basic class not may special abilities easy to understand, Rouge because I like think it is fun to sneak attack enemies take them out before they even know what hit them. favorite prestiege class- Dragon Disciple because I love dragon and the dragon disciple lets me become a half dragon which I think is very cool |
| CaviosDaryll11-28-05, 06:11 PM | My mind is kinda torn between two classes... I used to love playing as a Fighter, usually Fighter/Something Else, but I didn't care so long as I had Fighter in there. Yet I played them in a useless way, I don't ever remember doing something useful... That's why my new character is a Wizard. Specifically, he is a Wizard designed to cast almost all fire spells, and whatever isn't a fire spell I use Energy Admixture or Energy Substitution to turn into a fire spell... Well, I like being a Fighter and all, but I think this new character is going to be a lot more fun. So in short, Wizard. |
| Ioreck11-28-05, 06:29 PM | whatever is roleplayed best! i could char less whether i'm doing a rougue or a warmage or a fighter, as long as its interesting! in terms of power tho... i'd have to say the Martial Artist by Jaeroem (sp?) Darkwind. that this is PRO |
| ^Graff_EpsilonIX11-28-05, 07:51 PM | Out of curiosity, where is the statement in the CoC that explains the inability to create polls? |
| sleepydeath11-28-05, 08:08 PM | i dont have a favorite core class / class. I always prefer a mixture that represents the favorite fighting style of my current character.. |
| ErinLyger11-28-05, 08:24 PM | Druid and Cleric are my favorites, depending on my mood. Both allow me to be fairly useful to the group in many ways, and patching up damaged party members is always helpful. Plus, it's rare that anyone else wants to play the healer, so it's not very often that I am competing with anyone else. |
| evil_DM11-28-05, 09:59 PM | first of all, I would like to say that this thread should go in the "class" forum. Sorry for not putting it there. I would also like to apoligize for not mentioning to give a reason that it is your favorite class. Sorry for not giving a reason that those were my favorite classes. However, allenchan why didnt you just come right out and call me a noob? I would like to review your post. Okay, you might be right. Maybe I should stop making a bunch of threads. But they were all about different subjects and I thought that I should keep different things different.(have you posted only one thread?) Also, you might not like making punctuated posts but I do. (And that's a difference of opinion, so frankly, thank you for giving me yours). And I did not mean for it to be a poll. I meant for it to be a simple question.(If you look at the top of my extremely punctuated post, you will see that I apoligize for that). Finally I do not view the stuff I post as "spamming". However, once again that is a difference of opinion. I feel that I got flamed for not many reasons.(I mean come on, punctuation?!!). Maybe you did not view this as flaming. Evil_DM (P.S. It's just a game). |
| Illithid1311-29-05, 09:13 AM | Core- gota go with the monk (though cleric is a close 2nd). I just like the style of playing that they have going for them. That and they are awesome at killing wizards/sorcerers/psions. I've demonstrated this time and again with my DM. Some day he'll learn. Non-Core - This is a tossup between the Warlock, Artifacer, and Scout. Warlock is a great dark hero. They have a slew of great class features, the idea of invocations are great, and I like the crafting abilities. Artifacer is just a great class and is one that I think everyone will come to apprecieate in their encounters. A great one for environments like WLD and such. Scout is a great class for flavor. They have great class abilities and no level is a seemingly "wasted" level. They have the great potential for being an initiative freak (Imp Initiative(+4), battle fort (+3), and quick reconiter (+2)) and have a similar feal to them as the monk (movement orriented combat). |
| CryoSilver11-29-05, 08:51 PM | It's got to be rogue, especially in a high-magic setting. Rogue + UMD = Hasted, Divine Favored, Invisible, Wraithstriked, TWFing, SAing meleer that can still heal after the battle is over with a handy scroll of Heal. Also, I love skill monkeys. |
| Black Kitten11-30-05, 05:05 AM | Favorite class - Fighter I just love the way you can thematically tweak this to nearly every unthinkable combination of weapons and aggression. Even at high levels, the right combination or (non-core) feats from the Complete's can make this dmg output exceed the wizard. 2nd Fav. Class - Bard and/or Rogue Skillpoints also have the ability to make these guys very diverse and thematically focussed, while still kicking ass. |
| Gworraent11-30-05, 07:24 AM | wizards, 1-7 levels they suck, then it gets interesting. and expensive sadly :( ] warmages and scouts are also really cool. arcane spell chance failure and warmage edge ability helps. and for the scouts the skirmish damage and AC bonus(?) is fun as well |
| Ront Iron-Roar11-30-05, 09:20 AM | Because, some of my best character can be put down in this archetype. As well, as the fact I am a fan of old classic heroes. I'll take Barbarian Please. And with everytime I state my choice I shall say. TEMPUS! |
| loaba12-01-05, 08:57 AM | Fighter - every party needs one and it's a class that can be mixed (to good effect) with most any other. Lately I've been experimenting with a Barbarian/Fighter combo, using a 4-1 ratio (fighter heavy), and so far the results have been outstanding. |
| overchill4212-01-05, 06:55 PM | I have this strange movement-based combat fixation. Monks, agility-fighters, the swashbuckler, scout (from time to time), and I'm starting to warm up to the ninja. Spring Attack is my constant companion (after a few levels). Hit, run, hit, run, run, run, hit, hit, run... Come to think of it, I need to find a good character to take up the Elocater PrC. Mmmm... sweet, sweet, elusiveness. I also have a thing for one-trick ponies (Half-giant fighter/reaping mauler? You bet.) and super-intelligent rogues (12 skills at level one? Sign me up. Exemplar, here I come.). The sorceror is also a good friend of mine (Blow everything up. Repeatedly. At every available opportunity.). It's all just so much fun. |
| Acirema12-01-05, 08:15 PM | I am a HUGE fan of the Warmage and the Scout, as my sig shows. The Warmage is a major offensive arcane caster. Also, Warmages are pretty good both in melee combat and ranged combat. Intimidate can win the fight, and even if they can't cast dispel magic, they have amazing ways to circumvent SR and saves. The Scout is a mobility machine. Many things you can work into the Scout, my favorite being Catfolk and Ranger with the Dervish Prc. Add into the damage and ability to flank and snipe along with a great attempt at rivaling the Rogue in Skills youhave an amazing charactor that is essential both in and out of combat. |
| Argamoth12-01-05, 08:47 PM | Bard. They can be built to do almost anything. Sorta like a "Red Mage" (Final Fantasy). Light fighers, diplomat, sneak, or light caster. Excelent support abilities, too. |
| dan123412-02-05, 07:56 PM | I don't think I can pick a favourite class. . . They all have there fun moments. I don't have a class I always play like some people (and that pisses me off when people do that, no offence to people who do). But I guess the ones I enjoy playing the most, in no particular order is -Barbarian -Bard -Druid -Fighter -Rogue -Wizard -Sorcerer -Swashbuckler |
| drow_thief12-02-05, 10:15 PM | *points at name* i mean u can easily upgrade to an assasin and get a dagger of venom... if u cant tell wood elves are what i like to kill |
| Silverthumb12812-03-05, 06:54 PM | Gestalt Marshal/Paladin. Gotta love this pure Charisma powerhouse. d10 HD, Fighter's BAB, 2 good saves, and all of those wonderful Auras and Paladin abilities. Toss in the "Turn Burn" feats, like Divine Shield, etc, and you've got yourself an unbeatable engine of divine leadership. :D Plus, the only levels where they don't get an ability that isn't an Aura/Spell are 11, 13, 17, and 19. Just four levels. In the word of Busta Rhymes, "Woo-ha, got you all in check." |
