| Capn Charlie02-02-04, 06:42 AM | Technically there is neither in the phb. I would say lycanthrope would be the category not shapechanger though. I have always had problems with the way Favored enemies can blanket. It makes little sense that knowledge of the physiology of an elf can differ so much from that of a human or an orc for that matter. One fix I have been toying with is that if you choose a single creature from a broad subtype(hill giant, instead of all giants) the bonus is increased by half and does not apply to the rest of the category. And if you choose a broad category instead of a narrow one(all humanoids instead of dwarves) the bonus is halved. |
