| Kagetto15607-03-06, 01:00 AM | My all time favorite battle cry had to come from my younger brother he was playing a dwarven cleric of Thor and was facing off against his first ogre his battle cry was: "Go for the knees" sadly it was also the death of his character his last word was something akin to "****" my favorite last words are: "damnit leave the control panel alone" |
| Kapalen07-03-06, 01:05 AM | Alright I stole it from DW but my favorite battle cry is still, "I fight in the name of Justice!" Can't really think of any memorable last words, especially not in cahracter. Plenty of post death "d@** it"s from players though. |
| LuckyLeprechaun07-03-06, 01:09 AM | Favourite last words: 1. What the **** is that thing? 2. Look what I can do! 3. Why do I not like the looks of this? 4. Did I do that? 5. *whimper* Please don't eat me mister troll... |
| utilitarian07-03-06, 01:09 AM | While, like so many good lines, I stole it from OotS, my favorite last words I've used are "I'd like to point out that my ghost will be both angry and vengeful, and will retain all of my spellcasting abilities" |
| Shaggy_Shaggs07-03-06, 01:10 AM | For any warrior, but especially barbarians: "Stupid <monster>, you go squish now!!" (shamelessly stolen from Homer Simpson's "Stupid bug, you go squish now!!") |
| CryoSilver07-03-06, 12:34 PM | Favorite Battle Cry "For honor and glory, and lots and lots of money!" Favorite Last Words "Use a Fireball! I have evasion!" |
| TalonofTiamat07-03-06, 12:49 PM | Favorite Battle Cry: "I don't believe in faries!" (taken from book 4 of the Dresden Files) Favorite Last words: "Is that a dragon?" "This ale tastes funny" "I can jump it!" "(gasping)Fortitude save... (rolls a 1)...damn" |
| Secrets Untold07-03-06, 12:51 PM | Both a battle cry and a last words "In the Name of AUGH!!" |
| Thubby07-03-06, 05:54 PM | battle cry "hm, what, oh... enemies, right" the character actualy said this, he was very lazy, and more interested int the conversation going on with the other party member last words "(looks up) hm, so thats what it looks like" he was promptley eaten by the collosal red dragon over head last words again "damn it, thats the third time today!!!" the rogue had an unlucky streak disarming a series of power word kill traps, this would be the third time he would get true ressurection in that day. (the person as the cleric had issues with many, many dead characters in the past, so he made all 5 of his 9th lvl spells true resurection, lucky us) |
| Demon Lightfoot07-04-06, 01:35 AM | This "battle-cry" was from a ranger with a good Charisma score: "Not in the face, not in the face!" |
| loaba07-04-06, 01:49 AM | Choppy, the semi-retarded Half-orc: "You 'ttack Meny! No 'ttack Meny! Choppy chop!" Nemmie, the clever Shoal Halfling (after picking herself up): "It's 'Nemmie', Choppy..." |
| Whisper_Swiftblade07-04-06, 01:57 AM | battle cry Die trying!!!! time to learn why they call me Mr.Smashy I need a place to keep my knife, your heart will have to do catch! I am heer to chew gum an kick ass... I'm all out of gum. I don't think you know who I am, I'm da Juggernaut b..... last words whoops ouch I bet I can catch an arrow with my teeth I'm not afraid of some worthless kolbold named Pun-pun both this is going to hurt yep that hurt what I do now was my destiny Haha look what I've got |
| Crash0123456789007-04-06, 02:12 AM | Favorite Battle Cries "I'll show you a hell worse than death" "You want to meet the real me scum" "Damn you, you damned dirty (insert monster name)" Favorite last words "You wann pick a fight with me B****, well look at this" The player proceeds to pull the pin on a grenade and drop it. As he watches it slowly spiral downward he tries grabbing it in vain and mutters. "**** what was I thinking. While not last words, my character was undead and ate meat to regenerate, the blast just blew me in half. Upon waking "where the hell am I, oh I'm over here and there, no wonder I have a splitting ache in my back." The town sheriff was whispering to my friends "We don't have much food but we can disquise some of the corpses for him," I just happened to overhear and yell "I eat him," pointing at the dumb*** PC's corpse who had dropped the grenade. Another favorite of mine is "Ah, it's a flame breath po.." muttered by a character who assumed the vial on the rack was a potion when in reality it was a vial of alchemist fire. Don't you hate it when PC's don't let you finish your descriptions? |
| syrinth07-04-06, 02:48 AM | Battle cries of my players "For Corellon!" (Deceased cleric) "Ah f***it!" (Rogue, never explained why that was her battle cry...) |
| tsuyoshikentsu07-04-06, 03:12 AM | For Gixir, my Kobold Sorcerer: "Kurtulmak spits on you!" For Ambrose, my Magic-Blooded Human Dread Necromancer: "*Sigh* What have you idiots gotten us into?" For Kurzun, Thurgg, and Fie, my Barbarians: *Incomprehensable screaming* |
| Fiery Avenger07-04-06, 09:21 AM | Our group was on the lookout for an Assassin who had it in for us, and we were all failing our spots miserably - suddenly, said Assassin Death Attacks and kills the Paladin - his last words were "Found Him!" |
| KoronBlackwing07-04-06, 01:43 PM | Okay not a true battle cry but a good laugh for my group. First the set up...one of our characters has a scientent (sp?) weapon and was having an argument with it (really good rping by pc and dm) and the character mouthed off the the sword saying "shut up you're just a weapon." Well the sword attempted to take control at that point and the pc failed his check miserably (nat 2)...So next thing our pc's see (as conversation was completely telepathic) is our compainon draw the sword and charge off toward the sounds of orcs in the woods nearby shouting "I'm just a weapon!!" |
| kelvinaw27307-04-06, 02:10 PM | Playing the Babylon Project (B5 RPG) we were attacked by a quartet of raiders while chugging around in our tramp frieghter ... unfortunately for them our pilot was a former Battle of the Line ace, and had talked a reserve starfury out of Earthforce as a reservist to deal with raiders. Launching into the shadow of the ship when the raiders appeared on our screens, she quickly blindsided them. Raider Leader: "Deactivate your defence grid and standby to recieve borders or we attack!" Starfury: picks off tail-end charley with a single precise shot and lines up on the next. Cargomaster (buying time): "Sorry, what was that, we are having problems with our coms?" Raider Leader: "I said -" At this point second raider explodes spectacularly "- where the hell did that come from?!" Cargomaster: "Merry Christmas!" |
| Dei07-04-06, 02:29 PM | My mercenary's battlecry: "Fight to your deaths for you cannot fight to mine!" Best in character last words from my ranger: "Bury me in Ehlonna's realm!" |
| ElSanto07-04-06, 11:02 PM | I played in a game with my brother where he played a lawful evil monk, and everytime the monk made an attack he roll %dice that corisponded to a list of moves from the Monk's fighting style that he yelled out. They were priceless 25. Thirteen Kind Souls Snap! 87. Unstoppable Hold of the Automaton Birds! 42. Unthinkable Olive Cascade Lock! 56. Whirlwind Snap of the Phantom Charioteer! 81. Eight Boastful Savages Palm of Grinding Kites! 05. Ghost's Clutch of the Desolation! 38. Hazard Foot of the Courageous Warrior! Most of my good battle crys happen after the last enemy is fallen for exsample after my Barbarian killed the henchman fighter of the BBEG. As the villian dropped to the ground, the Barbarian yelled. "Now... I have SHOES!!!" I was playing a young dwarven fighter in an all dwarven party, we had just killed a group of orcs when another young dwarf asked Rolf what he was thinking and he responded by yelling "Ahhhhhhhh, Wadda Rush!" Stolen for the LOD but still cool. In another game I was playing one half of a pair of identical twins. One was a theif named Louis the Spider, I played Charles the Affable, a bard. The party was on their way to a fancy ball, so naturaly Louis wore Charles' everyday clothing as they were far better than anything Louis owened. The party is attacked by a run away cart. Most of the party decides to jump to the side, but Louis says he's going to jump onto the cart and try to stop it. He make the jump onto the cart with ease as he maxed out his jump. Thing is he's got no idea how a cart works, since we were sailors, so Louis says he'd going to use disable device to stop the cart. Rolls a natural 20, unhooking the yoke and jamming the wheels with ease and then raises his arms in victory "Louis the Spider!" as the crowd goes wild at the sight of acrobatics. Anyhow from then on when ever Louis or Charles did something cool in battle, Louis got the credit. This really hacked off Charles, who went out of his way to make sure he known in his own right. Longstory short, Charles crits three attacks in a row and kills a couple giant stone wolves. The crowd yelled "Three cheers for Louis the Spider" which prompted Charles to yell out "For the last time MY NAME IS CHARLES!" |
| Identitystolen07-04-06, 11:24 PM | My two favorites are rip off's but they work for me. Battlecry: " 'Ere we go!" (repeat rapidly in a chanting fashion.) Last words: "Hey ya'll, watch this!" or "It can't be that bad" |
| Drodain07-04-06, 11:29 PM | dwarf to a dire wolf- so you really get that big? hmm.... crit death to dwarf not quite a battle cry but a funny line cleric said when introducing someone right before a fight to the party '...and you can call me momma b/c out here im the only one who gives 2 sh**s and i'll kiss your boo boos to make you feel better *underbreath* pansy rookies*' |
| Nived07-04-06, 11:35 PM | I've been known on the spur of the moment to say some strange things in battle scenes that usually cause the table to break out laughing. Battle cry? "Taste salty Gnomish DEATH!" Yelled by a 8th level gnome druid trying to destract a Red Dragon who was beating the crap out of the party dwarf. Famous last words? While trying to put the rightful heir on the thrown and stopping a coup by kicking in a secret door and stopping the false corrination. Well we ended up fighting some elite castle gaurds. My cleric Divine Powered and some other spells ended up trying to "Hold the other off" as the rest of the party focused on the other elite gaurd, which turned out to be undead (I didn't know that until it was too late). After several rounds of fighting and having my strength drained, and being hit with a negative level, I hit him for some good damage... but in the end it didn't matter. DM "The knight bats away your sword and retaliates stabbing you mightily for 16 points of damage." *look at my sheet -4 hp* "I cough up a spirt of blood as his blade impales me, look him square in the face grit my teeth and say 'Damn your eyes', then Tarn slides off the blade and crumples to the floor." The room was dead silent... then one of the other players asks in an astonished voice "Damn your eyes?" At which point everyone burst into laughter. Actually its the title of an old Blues song I happen to like... seemed appropriate. End note: I stabilized at -7 hp, the party finished the other one the same round I went down and managed to beat the one that took me down. Tarn got knighted a few days after he recovered. |
| ravenspawn07-05-06, 12:37 AM | My friends come up with some great ones and not so great ones. I wish one of us had written them down but I've tried to remember a few of them. Battle-Cry (or at least opening statements to bad guys): "This temple is under new administration and we are here to administer PAIN!" :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: Last Words "A banshee? I'll use a greater turning and blow it away before screams." He failed, she howled and the party rogue died. :mymy: :censored: |
| xlivid07-05-06, 12:43 AM | The thing that ****** everybody off was during combat against some evil cleric I repeated the following line everytime an attack came through: *irritating melody* This attack has been made possible by Kelemvor At some stage the char got personal note from Kelemvor to stop it! |
| Archmage_Vall07-05-06, 01:08 AM | ripoff from diablo's dialogue macros: "DIE! Time to DIE! DIE! DIE!" |
| Morbid07-05-06, 07:06 AM | Battle cries: So long did we wait! Now we are whole! We will fight for the kingdom! Bound for glory! Armed With a heart of Steel! Their blood is our seal! Ride through their blood that we madly have shed! their blood is upon my steel. (All from the song "Call To Arms" from Manowar) Ia Ia Cthulhu Ftagen! (Not really a battle cry but powerful) Last Words: Don't worry. Do you think it still works? Does this look infected? If you stand real still, the dragon can't see you. Whats he gonna do, eat me? Watch this! |
| Archmage_Vall07-05-06, 06:25 PM | Last words: "Awww wook at the wittle baby dwagon!" |
| Ragix07-05-06, 07:30 PM | Battle cry(s): "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" "GNOME POWER!!!" "Longsword to the face." Last words: "I tripped" "What was that?" "I'm gonna do my victory dance" |
| TheMeanOne07-05-06, 11:14 PM | Battlecry - Kobble, Gnome Giant-Slayer: "Down here!" (it looks down) "Agh!" (Kobble rushes out of reach) In one game, we're often trying to catch the leaders of a Cult. Our DM often puts cult member in our way. They invariably want to taunt us about something, so our battlecry is basically: "Stop talking!" |
| SageInBlack07-06-06, 01:48 AM | Beginning of battle: (the battle cry) Can we eat it after we've killed it? I need to eat (speaking in front of a Dragon) Last Words NO!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't Kissed with any girl yet and I don't want to die vi... (gets swallowed) (but I think you would get the very last word, our group just dropped on the floor laughing for quite a while) |
| Count Nerindil Van Seraph07-06-06, 04:03 PM | My monk, Atticus, being severly anti-violence (and a bit of a coward), had a series of interesting "battle cries." "But... But... oh DAMNIT!" "You'll see that this is a big misunderstanding in the end!" "Well poo..." Nerindil, a very a-typical elf fighter (big, bladed, adamantine full plate, bastard sword, the like) usualy just charged into battle, laughing like a madman (because that is exactly what he was) and didn't stop until all visible enimies were in several peices. He did have some imagination, though: "REND THE FLESH!" "You look tasty!" "Your anguish shall sustain me." And stuff like that. |
| Malkieri07-07-06, 02:51 AM | I have a hard time recalling lines, but I'll never forget these. Scenario One: In a small two man game my partner and I are in the center of this evil town of ogres, orcs, and other such baddies. We are there to save some prisoners they had captured, which we did. However, on our way out we were spotted and quickly surrounded. Now, my partner was a sorcerer, but I was 3.0 psychic warrior, who- do to certain feats and equipment -had a movement rate of 80, and could run on walls and ceilings. Now the town is on a plateau so other than the main road, the only way out IS down a cliff wall. As we get surrounded... Me: Ok... I can get away from this.. 40 feet to the plateau, 100 foot down, at a double move I got 160 feet! I go! Other PC: Oh no you don't! We aren't leaving these people, you can outrun them, but not my fireball! Me: Fine! But on my gravestone, it better read Alarick "I could have gotten away" Avernius! (We managed to live, but the character did die later facing a red dragon. He was knocked to neg hp by the dragon but instead of dropping, used auto-hypnosis to stabliize and continue, so technically the saying still applied) Same character, we are investigating a crashed spell jammer on a deserted island. Me, the sorcerer and a dwarven cleric approach the wreck cautiously until our listen checks tell us something is inside. Me: I throw a rock into the large open hole at the top..."roll" AC 25 Cleric: Wait! we don't know what's in there! Me: Well, we will know now (the character was chaotic good) 2 giant Remorhaz crawl from the wreckage and attack us! We drop one, but the 2nd grapples the poor dwarven cleric (their very touch does 10d6 dmg, no save). As the cleric is engulfed in flames he looks at my character. "F--- YOU ALERICK!" Yep, he cursed me with his last words, kinda sad |
| LivingShadow07-07-06, 05:55 PM | last words (by barbarian about 8-headed hydra): I charge it! |
| Rian Lightblade07-07-06, 06:23 PM | Favorite Battle Cries: "CROM, Count the Dead!" "By (insert Deity’s name) will" "For (insert country's name)" "For Duty and Honor!" "For life!, For Duty, FOR (once again, insert country's name) "Our orders are to storm the breach on the south wall there. The army will follow us but you, will follow Me!" Favorite Last Words: "Blade with whom I have lived, blade with whom I now die, serve right and justice one last time, seek one last heart of evil, still one last life of pain, cut well old friend, and then farewell" (guess which movie) "Upon my life's blood! You shall not pass" "To die a hero's death is better then living a coward's life" |
| Pegasos98907-07-06, 07:43 PM | These last words are all out of character: Player: "CR is nearly never wrong!" followed by DM: "OOH! Kobolds with NPC classes are CR -3! How many scorching rays can 4th level adept cast?" Player: "Ahhah... Zombies. Funny! ... ... ... That book you are holding isn't libris mortis, right?" Player: "Nah, there are only skeletons inside." (not sure if this was IC or OOC) Player: "DM wouldn't do that to us." Player: "What kind of a sick **** would put half dragon template on a TOAD?" Player: "What do you mean 'Dispelling didn't work'?" Player: "Why would here be traps?" Player: "Why would here be zombies?" and the beloved Player: "Human bane weapons don't excist." |
| clarkvalentine07-07-06, 09:07 PM | My personal favorite is the Pythonesque "Right!" *draw sword* |
| Secrets Untold07-07-06, 10:26 PM | From my corrupted, twisted, vile, decadent, and evil (duh) psions. "You have no mind. It is only fitting that you shall die from mine." "Watch your step, now. We wouldn't want you to trip." --A keneticist before forcing the target to jump off a cliff/into a volcano/etc with kenetic control. "Whoops! It looks like you slipped." --After energy push-ing someone off a cliff. |
| tharivol26607-07-06, 11:05 PM | my monk4(then went insane)/barb 1/ gnomish clubthrower 3(i think): "GO GO POWER RANGERS mighty morphin power rangers" *hurls greatclub* i guess i should explain. the campaign was just a goof around one and three of us were with the dm one night and we violated the principles of the game briefly and we made completly broken prestige classes (at lvl 10 of club thrower i get ranged great cleave.) and we got up to lvl 8 while the rest were lvl 2 still(the campaing so far has only had one session after we did this) but he also gave me a greatclub that was dmg of medium sized down for me being small and it continually sang power rangers in my head. in the duration of our side quest in RL i started singing the theme a few times during battle and i got an extra 2d6 points of damage (yes i know this is beyond broken) but yea the club had throwing and instant returning on it(i could throw it multiple times in a turn). |
| Nobunaga Oda07-08-06, 12:03 AM | The party Fighter, to the Barbarian dressed in Wolf´s fur. "Oh go running to mother wolf, sissy wolfie girl, ´cause I am gonna hit you arse so bad that you will only stand for a week!" His last words(Yep, the barbarian manage to defeat him.) "Oh...My...God..." - Gets cutted in half(It was a critical.) |
| Rickiel07-08-06, 12:44 AM | "Blade with whom I have lived, blade with whom I now die, serve right and justice one last time, seek one last heart of evil, still one last life of pain, cut well old friend, and then farewell" (guess which movie) Said by Sir Giles in the animated movie, "The Flight of Dragons"! What do I win :) --- Villains seem to always have A last word. "HA! Behold your doom mortals! For I have in my hands the instrument of your destruction!" Right about then mythe ferret familiar of one Raz the rogue-mage used Sleight of Hand to knock it out of the BBEG's hands and with a lil help from Mr. Telekinises, got it himself. Naturally the villain then said, "Well fiddlesticks." |
| Stormbrand07-08-06, 06:14 PM | I like paladins so my battle cries are that sort. 'Good is on our side this day!' - Sir Keldorn Firecam. 'The guilty will suffer!' - a PC one I used. 'Your. Evil! DIES!! HERE!!! - Winter pointing a greatsword at a cornugon. My favourite. That! Is! Not!! My!! Cow!!! - Sam Vimes. Last words. 'My life is in your hand, and yet your victory is denied.' - my character, expecting to die...lived. 'You are the first good thing I ever did. Every life I saved. All the good I have done. It was you. And now, the good and the joy in my heart I gained from the child you were. Know this, when the abyss claims me and Beshaba has me at her mercy, I see the woman you have become in the years since that day. Worth it doesn't begin to do you justice.' - ex-blackguard to the child he saved when he renounced his god, shame he goes to hell despite the good he has done since then... I'm actually still working on that one. |
| LuckyLeprechaun07-08-06, 06:25 PM | "Blade with whom I have lived, blade with whom I now die, serve right and justice one last time, seek one last heart of evil, still one last life of pain, cut well old friend, and then farewell" (guess which movie) THE FLIGHT OF DRAGONS!!!! I win! EDIT: ACK! Rickiel! I demand your head on a silver plate!!! |
| ServantOfTheLordYawgmoth07-08-06, 08:15 PM | In one campaign I play a rather strange modified paladin/duelist. He's great fun, but he deviates rather strongly from the paladin archetype. Namely, in that he's a slightly pudgy elderly man who fights either with his cane or with the rapier hidden inside. I really roleplay the age aspect, having him refer to the other party members as youngsters (despite the fact that half of them are elves and at least twice his age) and making comments about the old days. He doesn't charge often, prefering to wait for the enemy to come to him, but sometimes his party charges first, forcing him to follow suit. His battlecry when this happens? "I'm getting too old for this sort of thing!" It doesn't actually sound that funny, until you picture it being shouted rather fiercely by an old man charging down a brigade of soldiers while waving his cane violently. |
| Horseshoe_Hermit07-08-06, 08:21 PM | For small characters: "Yeaargh! Your knees are MINE!" <-Shamelessly stolen from Jan Jansen in BGII:SoA Otherwise, I don't have battlecries. My character wholly avoids combat, and if he ever fought anyone, he'd use subdual damage, and if he had to kill someone, he'd just do it. As for being defeated, if you mean that they could have killed you but instead you're running away, I like "You LOSE! Good DAY sir!" <- Shamelessly stolen from Willy Wonka Actually dying, "Ha. Joke's on you. [cough up blood] I owe your associates FIVE silvers..." Or other things to screw with his head. |
| Piggyfreak607-08-06, 10:08 PM | I was fighting a wererat, and he just turned into his dire rat form and ran off, so we all got Attacks of Op. Well one of the players (a barbarian no less) got 3 natural 20s, and right when he got that, the player yells, I HATE RATS! and delares he just steps on it. |
| Rogue_Jedi_9907-09-06, 11:49 AM | Hey guys were are you going they're only daggers. The Dwarven fighter says this as we are back stabbed by a group of travelers, who were helping us at 1st level. We were unarmed and unarmored. Everyone one else in the party saw the hopelessness of the situation not the dwarf. needless to say he was quickly dispatched after making his stand. |
