| Fraser198603-03-07, 06:55 AM | I am due to play in a friend's campaign and havent played D&D for a while. I told him I was interested in playing a follower of Lathander who could wield some divine magic but focused more on mortial combat. He suggested a favoured soul, since I dont like playing paladins (i prefer playing neutral good characters) Anyway, which book is the favoured soul in? |

They're better than the paladin in every way (No code, more abilities, maneuvers are better than the paladin's spells), heal better in-battle than a cleric (as they heal and attack at the same time, giving you basically an extra action), are extremely tough (heavy armor and a delayed damage pool - take the feat Stone Power and it basically becomes DR), and are just generally a fun class to play. To be fair, though, they do have some bad points - they can't heal outside of battle, they aren't any help in curing diseases/ability drain/negative levels, and the way they recover maneuvers can be a little confusing. |
