| chrono966503-14-07, 01:09 AM | Okay so I'm looking for some help here guys. My friend is playing a lvl8 fighter. Race: Aventi str 14 dex 16 con 14 int 11 wis 11 cha 14 he has a temp score of str 16 b/c of magic items. his feats are two weapon fighting twin sword style weapon focus (longsword) weapon specialization (longsword) combat expertise Improved Intiative Two weapon Defense Greater weapon focus (longsword) The problem is that b/c of his incredibly limited class skills and his even more limited skill points he hasn't been able to find a prestige class he qualifies for let alone one he wants to take. Does anyone have any ideas for a simple and effective prestige class that most straight fighter with limited skill points could achieve keep in mind that he has unfortuantely spread those skill points around alot so that he has only 2 or 3 ranks in a bunch of skills except 8 in swim and he put some in speak language so he knows Aquan, Elven, common, chondathan and Sohuagin, also his profession is sailor. he has knowledge (local) (waterdeep) and knowledge geography. Thanx -chrono9665 |

I'm not familiar with Aventi (what book are they in? Stormwrack?) Or Kensai lets you imbue your weapons with magical energy by burning a little exp. but it lets you go beyond the normal +5 limit all the way up to +10 (maxes at your levels in kensai though) and honestly the exp costs are minimal, and it also lets you do powersurge which gives you a temp +8 to your strength, lets you hit really hard. They're both in complete warrior. the only ones that stuck out at me for ya |
| kelvinaw27303-14-07, 01:19 PM | Kensai still has to limit to +5 actual enhancement, the rest is in effects like flaming, holy etc. Sounds like you may need to tak a few levels in another class to qualify for anything. What is available to you? I don't know what Aventi's favoured is. |
| ZiggZagg03-14-07, 01:29 PM | What is the Twin Sword Style feat? Oh and I would recommend either Dervish or Tempest for PrC's. Both very useful for Two Weapon Fighters |
| FntsyWlkr03-14-07, 01:46 PM | I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I don't care about any other beef about the Fighter, the fact that there are NO PrC's geared towards fighting sucks. They are all geared towards skills or spell casting. The melee human fighter gets shanked and only gets Kensai, Exotic Weapons Master, or PrC's that make you a tank. What do I recommend? Muilticlassing. Go sorcerer and pick spells (true stick, wraith strike, mirror image ...) that compliment your fighting. |

For the record I don't think he would mind being a tank. I really thing he just feels that his character is alittle boring (structurally) compared to the rest of the party and maybe something like this will help. the fact is his character background is such a complete mystery too us both IG and OOG. we've been playing since september and we just found out he was aventi OOG and IG. its very intriguing. |
| Magrus03-15-07, 12:07 PM | Complete Adventurer I think is the book that has the Tempest PrC in it. He would need to take Dodge, Mobility and Spring Attack, so it would be at least 4 more levels. Unless your DM would let him switch out a few feats to enter it early. Some will, and I know if it's affecting my players enjoyment of the game, I am likely to consider it and the effects of doing so. If he DOESN'T allow feats to be swapped out and the player wants in, I would let the Tempest Defense class ability stack with the 2-weapon defense feat. That's just me though. If so, it might be a viable build by the full run of the course of the PrC. It would end up with a +4 to armor by level 5 that way from the 2-W and Tempest defenses. |
| serow_#R03-15-07, 01:14 PM | Not really a suggestion for prestige class, but since you're already more so far into fighter, why not just more fighter? Get the PHB2 to make you feel like a fighter once again. |
