Fighter or Crusader for epic campaign [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-23-07, 04:42 PM Me and my friends are going to start up a epic campaign (soon I hope :D), and I am going to play a melee class.
First I thought I would be a figther, but now when I read a little about the crusader, it sounds pretty good too. This would be my first pure melee class as well, I usually play a rogue or a spellcaster.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Spell caster rule early epic level but start to lose finesse later in the game Fighter is probly best later in the game

i would probly sit there and play a Crusader if not a Support class character

support classes are useoly good all around even in epic level they might not rule the world at early epic level but at least they wount lose finesse at higher levels (you can change just about anything at high level with non spell casters the problem is getting there)

im expecting at most the game to go from level 21 to level 25 which is early in epic level standerds so epic level spell caster will be in the zone of bragging rights and will seem godly (But in fact later on they start to lose it) so even though fighters are nice i beleve they wount be powerfull (Normly) intill level 28 or higher so crusader gets my vote on early epic level for the list i can choose from but higher level i would perhaps go with the fighter

but go with the crusader or rouge or cleric/paladin but crusader is good for what you want to be

this is my thought sense i have played alot of epic level games and im trying to not say eveything in epic level game it seems like you realy want to play it and its your first time so might as well not ruin eveything

04-23-07, 05:12 PM The crusader would probably be more fun, but if you can find a good use for all those feats, I'd suggest Fighter. The only problem with crusader is it can get complicated if you don't really understand the manuver system.

So i say go with fighter unless you take a good look at the crusader manuver system.

04-23-07, 05:38 PM In Epic, the disparagement between casters and non-casters is so stupidly obscene, playing a fighter is like bringing a knife to a nuclear war. The crusader is closer to a tank in the same situation.
