| Telinar Beln12-06-05, 10:30 AM | I'm currently playing a Lvl10 Half-Elf Fighter. Up until recently I was playing him as a CN mercenary, basically if it looks hostile it dies. However our party Cleric (who worships Pelor, and is a bit of a zealot, kudos to the player on good RPing) has saved my life on many occasions that I decided to have my character also worship Pelor, so the cleric cast atonement on me and I am now CG. I have now decided to multi-class as a cleric, going for a kind of battle cleric, kind of like a trainee under our main cleric, also Lvl10. Now I was going for whirlwind attack, which i will get at Lvl14 if i carry on down my path. My question is this. Should I wait til Lvl15 to start multi-classing or should i multi-class now and take various strength doman spells to back me up instead? |

Since you want whirlwind attack, I'd take 1 or 2 levels of Cleric, then go for the rest of what you need for whirlwind attack, then continue in cleric if you like it. The casting progression will be lagging some, but since you seem to go for fighting over sermons, I don't see that being a problem. The handful of cleric levels can give you a few buffs and healing spells, which can come in useful during battle. |

Yeah, but make sure you don't have a belt of giant strength or you won't gain any benefit at all :) I've got this little luxury problem with my druid with + Ioun stone [+2 str]. Well, at least, the monk will soon find out his Ioun stone won't stack with his belt, the wizard can't really use it and the rogue has weapon finesse... I don't think I'll cast a bull's strength any more to gain a +1 on attack and a hefty +1,5 on damage... ;) But what to think of the other spells that await you... Magic weapon, (lesser) vigor, (lesser) restoration, cure X wounds, shield of faith.... Just remember not to cast any spells on your opponents. Instead, cast spells on yourself, allies and use spells to summon creatures. That way you don't have to deal with saves and spell resistance. Then again, a ranged touch attack might be a substitution for a bow... :) |

Four levels of cleric (and one of the feats) then go back to fighter for a pair of levels which will get you WW at character level 16 since you get feats at level 15 and FT12. Finish out with cleric or possibly a PrC. |
