Finding a game in a new area [Archive] - Wizards Community

So I recently started playing D&D, about 6-ish months ago. The problem is, I was playing at college and now that I'm off for the summer doing the summer job thing, I'm going into D&D withdrawl...well, sorta. No one I know around here plays and I really badly want to be involved in a game. Suggestions anyone???

I was in the same situation when my friends went away for school, and i stayed here in Pa commuting. Then, i get a job in a bookstore, i'm at the mall for work and i just find other people who play in the Allied Hobbies. Long story short, i'm playing in 4 separate games now (Earth-Dawn, Star Wars :D , and 2 D&D)

Pretty much look where the nerd population hangs out. Lots of comic shops and so forth have, like, message boards posting info about games

06-29-05, 02:59 PM Cym. linked to the gamer classefieds area of the boards. You might also find a play by e-mail (PBEM) there, or at Women in Gaming (http://wig.devermore.net/tiki-index.php). The WIG site isn't terribly active yet, but you might find someone on the mailing list.

living greyhawk is a national network of D&D games you can join.in my sig is a link to a website that you search your area of D&D games to join.-or you can start a group-but do check hobby shops-sometimes they have games or posters

Most universities have gaming groups of some kind. Even if that falls through, you can try posting on the Gamer Classified board (its several up on the navigation drop-down menu.
