Finding Local Gamers [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-12-06, 06:44 PM The WotC player classified is poorly Managed IMO. Its a fourm just like this, and while it works well for seeking advice from other gamers it not so great for advertising. East and West of the Mississippi is alot of area, thats alot of people. Having a fourm per state would be much more effective. But WotC never seems to listen to the people that accualy buy the products, a bunch of suits if you ask me (i know you didn't though).

I just moved to Baton Rouge, LA and i'm really trying to find gamers in the area. In a city of 500,000 people i know atleast 8 of them can play D&D or SWRPG, so how does one come about finding these enlightend souls? is it merely by chance that you meet a gaming group or are there certain locations one can begin to look? Your suggestions will be appreciated as always.

06-12-06, 06:53 PM Is there a game store in your or a nearby town? They often have webpages and messageboards where people get together. If no messageboard then ask the gamestore person for advice, they often will be able to point you in the right direction. Thats how I did it... Didnt work out with that DM but another player in that group let me join a group that he DMs and now I am quite happy.

06-12-06, 08:46 PM HAHA from the discription of the group in your SiG sounds like its a blast. Thanks for the Advice I know there are some comic book stores in town Baton Rouge being a reasonably large city, I'll start there

06-13-06, 08:46 PM I think there's a place called Little Wars down there that has gaming stuff. You could also try googling. I have found some gamers wanted sites before using this method.

I'm way up in West Monroe, but that's a little far to go for a game. (4 1/2 hours or so north)
