OracleYori 06-25-05, 09:30 PM	Is there any problem in the rules about a character having both the fire and cold subtypes? I'm talking about using both the Mantle of Fiery Spirit and Mantle of Icy Soul, or a couple wishes.

was_fired 06-26-05, 12:25 AM	While the rules do indeed state that you would take no damage from either the most common way to gain this is through template, and as such the player / DM should actually reflect on what these are supposed to mean. Normally in such cases I would simply cancel out both subtypes, but then again I am a bit of an ass.
OracleYori 06-26-05, 12:10 PM	my dm is an ass too, but mostly about wishes, which get abused in our games sometimes- thats what the Mantle spells are for- they permanently grand a fire/cold subtype, and take a lot of gp and xp to cast, which my dm doesnt screw with... (yeah, i know wish has an xp cost, but someone wished for a thought bottle once...)

According to the writers of the Maure Castle adventure in Dungeon, that is the right answer. It's also the correct answer by the RAW, as 150% of zero is still zero.
