Okay I know this will sound stupid, but I need some help.

I have created a monk. 1st lvl. nothing special about him. Stats are 15, 16, 15, 12, 15, 12.
Could someone in detail please explain to me how Flurry of blows works at first level.

If I attack, per say, an Orc.

Sorry for the stupidity.

This thread should go in the equipment & combat forum. Not in what's a player to do.

Anyway look at the monk entry here:
http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/monk.html

When you make a full attack using FOB you make 2 attacks instead of one.

Both attacks are made at -2 and then you add any STR or DEX bonuses that appy
So in your case you make 2 attacks at +0 each. Each attack deals 1d6+2 points of damage.

At first level, with a 15 STR, your flurry of blows would be 2 attacks at +0/+0 that do 1d6+2 damage each.

Essentially Flurry of Blows is Two Weapon Fighting for unarmed strikes. You get two attacks, each at -2. Since your normal unarmed strike would be at +2, your flurry of blows is at +0.

As you rise in level, your BAB will rise and thus your unarmed strike will raise, and thus your flurry of blows will rise. At second it will be +3 for your unarmed stike, +1/+1 for your flurry of blows. Furthermore, as you rise in levels the penalty applied to each attack in your flurry of blows will drop, going from -2 to -1 and eventually to -0.

Hope that helps.

just a clarification... flurry of blows is two weapon fighting with unarmed strikes OR with special monk weapons.

you can't use unarmed attack as two handed weapons (unarmed is just like one weapon)

you can use weapons that work in flurry of blows though (like kama). in that case, flurry and two-weapon fighting stack.
