Also can you use spirited charge if you are a flying character? Or is there a feat that allows spirited charge'esq ability for flying characters in savage species? basically i'm up against a raptorian or whatever and its doing flyby charges to me. I'm gonna try to disarm it but I'm not understanding how it does 10d6 on each hit with a monkey gripped large long spear... Basically its base damage is 2d6 from the spear but now he gets +3d6 for doing a charge that's over 60 feet or so... also he's using sprited charge and blah blah. Now if I'm correct whouldn't your charge STOP when you reach your target regardless? I though a charge is a full round attack action and fly by allowed you to move, then do a standard attack action then move more if you have any left. Oh yes I know the easy answer is to cast fly and go trip him or just pound... but this is an "honor" battle for some reason, anyways no magic allowed in this fight. Flight is out of the question since i've not had a chance to go pick up my boots of flight from "home"... actually I kind of own a city... long story but the moral is i'm lvl 15 and done a lot... now the DM is throwing something we can't fight, unless we have ability to use our spells based on this chargeness |

On top of that, with Diving Charge they do an additional +2d6 damage. Flyby Attack states that they can make a move action, including diving, and make their partial action any time during that move action. The raptoran you are fighting is basically interpreting the rules the same way I did for my character...as long as he positions himself correctly, he can make a diving charge with the attack being in the middle of the move. Diving charge makes this more possible because it says that after the charge you can change your flight path to fly parrallel to the ground. |

I'm not familiar with the manuverability of flight for a raptorian. I'm gonna stick with the disarm attempt when the session starts up again next monday |

The best diving charge can do is flatten out your flight, it won't allow you to fly straight up or reverse your flight path. Us raptorans only have average maneuverability, which i don't believe is good enough for an act like that. |
