I'm creating a Feral Halfling Warblade which specializes in Tiger Claw, and am looking for some RP ideas for quirks, personality, etc. I don't want to play the average crazy berserker-like character who is stupid and just likes to smash/kill stuff. In combat he will be pretty ferocious, but out of combat I want some RP'ing options and fun quirks to play. I just can't think up any good ones right now! So if people could help me with fleshing him out into something fun to play that is different, that would be awesome.

So far:

His stats are 18, 14, 16, 10, 12, 11. With an Int of 10, and a Wis of 12 he is no idiot. He has Fast Healing, so I don't think he will care about getting hit too much. His claws are his main weapon. He will wear light armor to maximize his mobility. The campaign is taking place mainly in the Underdark right now. The rest of the group consists of Drow and a Duergar.

Thanks for any ideas.

read Eberron campaign setting book for some nomad hunter/gatherer halfling love.

seriously, who doesn't love a dinosaur riding halfling savages :D

make him somekind of primitive/tribal warrior (you know, tribal honor, odd customs and deep spiritual connection to the world kinda stuff).
loves battle, loyal to his friends, honors his enemies (even while busy with ripping their face of with his bare hands).

onekind of twist would be to make him increfibly peacefull and serene out of combat, total non agression life style for most of times, and only go on aggressive after being attacked.

Thanks for the ideas! Alas I don't have the Eberron sourcebook. Some of that sounds cool though. I forgot to mention that it is an evil campaign.

I really like the idea of having him be peaceful outside of combat, but flying into a rage when attacked.

Some of your ideas about tribalism sound fun too. Something along the lines of the Native Americans. He could be an honorable tribal warrior which meshes well with the party (very difficult sometimes with evil campaigns) but still be ferocious in combat.

That's got me thinking....Thanks for the ideas.

If anyone has anything else, please post. I really appreciate the ideas/input.

Well if you're willing to really go overboard on the whole tribal idea..... Talk to your GM and ask if you can take an evil version of vow of poverty. Have him despise every aspect of magic/and technology.

Or a cannibalistic (I think I spelled wrong, I havn't slept in awhile, sue me...) halfling. Those are always fun, and if anybody gives you crap, just lick your lips. That usually shuts people up :D

There are a lot of cultures that like to drink blood, why not a halfling one.

IMPORTANT!!! Get a ring of invis and make sure to kill sam in your background.

i think the canablism thing would be great for a feral halfling, have him file down his teeth.

Fast Healing, His claws are his main weapon.
Iunno if you meant for this to happen, but that sounds a bit like Wolverine. Bub. That aside, I second (or is it third) the cannibalism idea.

you know a lot of times the Feral Template is game breaking right? It's completely unbalanced and not really ment to be used for PC's...

You mean just like a barbarian? :P

Or a wizard for that matter

The only possible gamebreaking part I see is the Fast Healing. The only time this would really become a problem IMO is in endurance-type scenarios where the PCs don't get any rest.

What else do you see as potential problems?

Regrading the cannibalism, what would be some RP'ing ideas for that? I don't want it to be too cliche'...

Yes, I do realize the resemblance to wolverine. It was unintentional, and I am trying to change it enough to get away from it.

LOL I'VE GOT IT!!!!

For role-playing, he was raised by red-caps! (They're in MM3 IIRC) It would be perfect for him.

Also, why wait for your oppened to die before you start to eat them? Come up with something, for role-play, like frenzy. Except it happens at the scent/sight of blood. He can still tell ally from foe, but he gets "hungry".

That is all I have for now.

I don't have the MM3, but that's starting to sound more like a werewolf

I think I am going to play him as a tribal hunter who is generally calm and collected, but in battle goes nuts. It will also be normal for his tribe to eat the flesh of people. "What? You think this is wrong? All of my people do this..."

Thanks for the input/ideas.
