Like if I want a maneuver that requires 3 Shadow Hand Maneuvers, can I have a stance, a boost and a strike and still fit it? Second, if I have say, the Diamond Mind maneuver Sapphire Nightmare Blade. Then I take Emerald Razor, which requires one Diamond Mind maneuver, can I later switch out Sapphire Nightmare Blade for an Iron Heart maneuver? Even if the only other Diamond Mind I have is Emerald Razor which had the requirement. Also, could I have switched Sapphire Nightmare Blade for Emerald Razor? Either way I'd have the requirement of 1 maneuver before and after. Finally if those two were true, if I had both, and later got Bounding Assualt (which requires two maneuvers) could I get rid of both other maneuvers for some other discipline, and still able to use Bounding Assault even if I don't fit the requirements anymore? Just when I first got the maneuver? |

As far as swapping out maneuvers and keeping maneuvers with prereqs, that's a tough question. Since the book says you need to know some maneuvers in order to learn the maneuver, not use the maneuver, I'd say you can switch out the prereq after you've learned the maneuver. Think about it: you learn basic skills, then advance to more complex skills, and eventually the more complex skill becomes second nature and you don't need to know the intermediate step to be able to do the more complex skill anymore. That being said, I seem to remember a CustServ clarification on the matter, but for the life of me I can't remember which side they ruled. I'll see if I can find it. EDIT: Found it. According to CustServ, you only need the Prereq to learn the maneuver, not to ready or use it.
