Me and my freinds have been dualing over this a long time. The question is how many attacks does a ranged weapon get during one round acording to the rule book. One side of the argument is that you get as many attacks as your base attack bonus allows (without use of feats). However the other side of the group says that pulling an arrow from the quiver each time to fire incures the same penalty as pulling a sword, not to mention the time it takes to knock the arrow. Normally pulling a weapon from its sheath is a partial action an dyour only alowed two of those. So does that mean with no feats or abilities to back them up you can only fire two arrows in one round as a full attack action even if you have 5 base attacks??? I think feats such as quickdraw and manyshot are needed to use more attacks per round, but the PHB is very vague when it comes to describing the diffrence between tohe two fighting styles, if any one could help solve this puzzle i would greatly apreciate it. thanx.

Players Handbook Chapter 7 Equipment: Pg 113 Under the header ammunition
Projectile weapons use ammunition:Arrows (for bows), bolts (for crossbows), or sloing bullets (for slings). When using a bow a character can draw ammunition as a free action; crossbows and slings require an action for reloading.
There you go.

Drawing ammunition is a free action, and you can take free actions in the middle of a full-round action such as making a full attack.
