He probably means Geomancer, the Prestige Class out of Complete Divine

What kind of ideas are you looking for? Background? Abilities? Drifts to take? What?

Actually, Geomancer is a cool mystic theurge-esque prestige class in Complete Divine.

I don't know what you're asking though. For roleplaying tips? Maybe have him slowly become more and more feral.

tricky, using the ley-lines is great, but in my experience you tend to end up far away on some mystical plane/castle/dungeon etc which makes them useless.
Drifting is cool, my DM let me sacrifice wild shape uses (permanently) to gain more drift aspect.
also being able to cast all spells at best DC/CL etc is pretty uber, but the class restricts you also.

Consult your DM, make sure your not taking a class that will end up redundant and your DM should know what being a Geomancer will mean to you character & the campaign.

Obviously you didn't become a geomancer overnight. Either your character was a druid who became fascinated with the flow and power of arcane magic - or a sorceror (or whatever) whose research discovered a vast untapped source of natural magic. You've worked for years to reconcile druidic and arcane principles: your dedication is so great that you did not flinch, even when you realized that mastering this power would twist your physical body, mutate you into something inhuman.

This suggests certain things that geomancers would have in common. Firstly - a willingness to sacrifice anything for their goal. In the case of evil geomancers, that goal would be their own power, or even immortality: consult 'Final Fantasy VII' for a geomancer-style attempt at godhood. A non-evil geomancer probably has some other goal, like the preservation of magic, the defense of the Prime Plane against outsiders who threaten it, etc.

It also suggests that your character looks closely at the roots of things. He looks for sources and reasons: "It's just magic" is probably a really annoying statement to him.

Since he's willing to allow his body to be twisted by the powers he commands, your geomancer probably doesn't value his "humanity" (or... elfity? dwarfity?) as much as others. Alternately, maybe he misses humanity very much and regrets Drift as the price of his power.
