So we're starting a gestalt pirate campaign. I'm thinking I'll use an elf swash/wiz, then prestige from swash into Bladesinger. Any ideals for a complete build through lv 20? I'm not sure how I want to prestige the wiz side or what to fill the martial side with after I max out Bladesinger. Is it worth taking Bladesinger and Duelist? Would Canny Defense stack with Songblade Style? Does the Blood Magus work in 3.5?

Also, this will be my first time playing Forgotten Realms. I haven't even looked through the book yet, so let me know if there is anything in there that you think would be useful.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what a bladesinger is, so I can't help much in that respect. However, I can offer two bits of advice:

1. Don't double post. If people are ignoring you anyway, then probably it won't help.

2. The Character Optimization boards are the place to go for advice on character stat development. Always.

Oddly worded. Don't confound with Character Development Board, where people prefers to stand away from Optimization and are more concerned with background and role-play.

If your question falls in both aspects, in a limited way, this current board is usually a good place to start.

Now to your question. With Gestalt, some DM are reluctant to allow Prestige Classes which are already "Gestalt" of two other classes. For example, Bladesinger has full BAB and continues the wizard caster levels. If your "other side" is another full-casting class, I would let you use the Bladesinger goodies, save for the spellcasting.
