i need some advice on what to do with my githzerai monk.
anything constructive would be appreciated.
give me all youve got too because i want to surprise my DM.
if i do something that he would not expect out of me, he says that he will reward me in-game.
he likes to reward original thinking and people who do their homework.
but i cant do said homework without any DnD texts to read.
that is why i am here. to seek the councel of the 'elders' shall we say.

well, what are stats and feats and everything else?? Or do you want help doing it from scratch?

Things that really pulled together my Githzerai Monk:

-Red Avenger PrC, from Sword & Fist. Makes amazing use of a high Wisdom score, and is often overlooked. Also stacks some Monk abilities, IIRC.

-Planar Handbook. The two things that stuck out for me were the feats Neraph Charge(will force one enemy to become flat-footed), and Acheron Flurry(forces one enemy engaged in melee with you to take a couple of penalties).

-Feed the Hungry Slaad(a feat from Dragon #306). This feat will give you a +4 to one mental stat, in exchange for a -4 from another mental stat. Really, the whole article is great, but this feat has been the most helpful.

-Weapon Finesse. This should be glaringly obvious, as you'll have a +6 Dexterity.

Vow of Poverty (Book of Exalted Deeds) plus inertial armor=win.

Psionic Monk is a neat (though slightly underpowered-consult your DM) PrC that has a lot of great flavor for a githzerai.

Or maybe (again, CONSULT DM) he wandered out into limbo on his own and got sucked into a chaos storm that left him with the anarchic template. Now he's an outcast from his own society and has to make his way on the prime. Well worth the LA for the RP value, but it's not so hot if you're the only exotic member of the group.

thanks guys
that was all very helpful
right now the party that im in consists of only my character (Duurth) and a swashbuckler named Rael Nosmin
the plot of the whole campaign is that the whole world has erupted in a war.
my young sister has been abducted while i was away becoming a monk and i need to rescue her. I mean i really need to rescue her because she is all the family i have left, not to mention that she is the greatest songstress to ever exist, and here music is so moving and powerful that it can control whole armies. Nosmin, played by one of my good friends, is a bastard son of a man that was related to a great king. The king was transformed into a pit fiend and ravaged many lands over 600 years ago. Nosmin is on a journey to return honor to his real family line.
how does that all sound? (My friend and I and the DM came up with it last night)
future additions to the party will come from other friends
one plans to be a paladin/fighter
and another plans to be a ranger/druid

Sounds like a neat idea... How are the 'Zerai involved in this world??? Are they recent additions or long time visitors???

With one finesse fighter, a Holy Warrior, and nature boy you already have quite a bit of offensive power. So you need to be a skirmisher/scout type. You'll have the best saves & the best mobility (outside of the wildshaped druid?) of the bunch. With a high Wisdom you'll be the eyes and ears of the group. With no Arcane caster in the bunch however, you'll be the only Anti-mage weapon available. I'm not thrilled with a grapple monk (unless your DM allows a feat that lets you use Dex for grapples) but it's a good way to bust mages.
