| *Truean*07-12-04, 01:26 AM | I can't believe I'm even posting this. My problem is that I've got everything I've ever wanted for my rouge PC.... I'm filthy rich.... The problem = it's in freaking gold bricks!!! I have no idea what to do with them. I mean... it's not like I can walk into the 7 11 and buy a slurpy with a gold brick.... I thought it would be in coins or gems or something like that.... Even if I could spend it, there's the problem of someone tracing it back to me! Let me back up and explain.... I came up with a plan to steal "one metric crapload" ;>) of treasure from a very rich (and even though no one can prove it corrupt as all get out) business man in a my group's game world. My DM let me play it out in game to see if it would work.... I still can't believe it did.... Basics- Step one - find out as much as possible about the situation - A) He has a mage guarding the place who has set up summon monster traps and other goodies in addition to being rather awesome by himself. In addition to this he has several mundane guards in the place B) He is well known in the city in question and therefore has made more than a few enemies... C) I'm a "crappy" underling in the local thieves guild (i.e. the rich man's competition and enemy) and I want out (I have my reasons...). However, to protect myself I have an alias. I haven't even heard my real name said in years. D) I'm separated from the most of the party, but that's a whole nother story.... The Plan - Aa) Take care of the defenses. How you ask? The guards are easy, because they're all just mercenaries (no pay = no work). Make sure that the paperwork dealing with the guards’ pay gets messed with so that they do not get paid. Simple strife there.... If necessary there are plenty of ways to distract them.... The tricky part was the spell caster and his traps.... For this, employ that little used and horribly feared spell, nightmare. Take away the mage’s ability to memorize spells, and then kidnap him. Finally replace him with a friendly mage who can take his place and act as a man on the inside.... (Note: This worked rather well the summon monster traps were a little tricky but ok..... The only problem: guard animals (dogs, ect).) Bb and Cc) I managed to kill two birds with one stone here.... Pit the two enemies against each other to serve as both diversion and unwitting support.... For now, I think what’s left of the Rich Business man’s economic empire thinks the thieves guild is to blame. The Thieves guild thinks the same thing about him...(I hope). Hopefully no one will figure out it was me or where I am.... I ... am ... gone.... Clearly I somehow managed to pull it off and head for the proverbial exit.... Now I’ve got a lot of marked (and I’d bet my paranoid @$#), very traceable, and noticeable bullion (gold bars). I would fence it, but by cutting ties with the guild I have lost my fence.... I would melt it down but I don’t know how to get away with that either.... So the question remains: How do I make this treasure useable without it being traced back to me...? I'll be sitting arround with my unuseable gold brick taking any suggests here.... Truean |
| The_Yellow_Dart_Swinger07-12-04, 01:37 AM | Skip town and hide until everything cools down a bit. I'm assuming that you can easily carry the gold. Once things cool down a bit, you can return to the city, or another big city and don a disguise as a noble, they deal with large sums of money and probably use gold bricks because it's a lot easier to use than coins. Thus you could buy items from or though the nobles. Thats my suggestion. |
| Tevish Szat07-12-04, 02:21 AM | 1: get a good disguise inconspicously. alter self is best here. you don;t want to look like anyone, just not like yourself. Also, use a new psuedonym 2: Locate the local black market, where most of the goods will be semilegal at best and people aren't inclined to ask questions. Find someone willing to sell you smith tools and pay them in whatever you have avaliable. 3: with your new tools, melt the gold and recast it in smaller chuncks. make sure these chunks are not uniform. keep a few bricks though, acceptable losses. go to various moneychangers and merchants over the course of a few days or weeks, changing the stolen gold into coin. change your disguise and psuedonym (if asked) regularly. you'll probably lose 10%, but that of the motherload of all motherloads isn't much 4: As you do this, use your newfound money to purchase, as soon as possible (possibly still with the bricks if you find a crooked enough wizard), the following goodies. they will help you now nad in the rest of your theiving career. Amulet ot nondetection (or whatever they call the dang thing) Hat of disguise Ring of Invisibility (Get one that does Improved Invisibility of you can) command word widget that lets you get mind blank 1/day. 5: remember the extra bricks? you should have hidden them well, 'cause they're your ticket if the coppers get hotter on your tail. If you feel threatened, use your skilz to plant the few bars/bricks in the house of a plausable scapegoat and use your disguises to anonomously tip off the athourities. the bust takes down the scapegoat. Hopefully, justice in your cnmpagin is handeled more like the real world, otherwise zone of truth could muck this up. if you suspect a muck up by magic, buy yourself a teleport without error away from your crooked wizard and get out. with your remaining gold and your gear. maybe a Plane Shift if you really want away. Then pick a nice lair/big city if you got teleport or else a good planar locale like Sigil to let it blow over. Hell, go to sigil anyway, you'll find fewer questions and likley no following law enforcement. Just don't deal in gold with celestials, they don't like it. Realize, teleport is prolly better, as planes are more at the whim of the DM. |
| Sildatorak07-12-04, 03:05 AM | You should get access to smelting equipment and recast the gold. Melt it down into trade bars of about 20 lbs (1000 gp value) each, putting forged seals from various merchant houses or trading companies on them. Move to another city and set yourself up as a merchant from [city different than the one you stole the gold from] and purchase as many high-priced goods as you can get your hands on (gems, fine silks, expensive wines, rare animals). Now head to even more cities and towns and sell off your goods. Finally invest your money in whatever city you want to settle down in by purchasing a nice tavern and starting your own thieves' guild. Alternatively you could try to find a dragon with an alignment similar to your own and strike some sort of a deal with him or her where you pay it tribute and it protects you as its vassal. |
| Ssussunriyh07-12-04, 03:52 AM | If you're feeling especially bold and/or lucky, you might try to bargain with a dragon, swapping the gold bars for more freely spendable coins... "You don't really want all those measly copper and silver pieces, do you? How about some nice shiny gold ingots instead?" On second thought, the dragon might just say, "They may be just measly copper and silver pieces, but they're MY measly copper and silver pieces!!! However, if you give me those nice shiny gold ingots, I'll consider letting you live." So okay, maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all... |
| Edward07-12-04, 04:27 AM | There are 2 ways to go about this. Recast the bars and forge seals on them. required skill forgery the craft is available untrained and not a very high DC. The risk is having to explain where you got the money and not forging it adequately. Option 2, slower but safer. Obtain threw means fair or foul the legal title to an expired gold mine. It will not be very expensive baby engage in a small amount of option one to pay for it. A couple of weeks latter you discover a new vain of gold. You melt down the bars you have mix them with dirt (you will have to work your mine to create this dirt of the right type) then separate the gold out using normal mining methods and the gold is chemically indistinguishable from gold mined there. Any tracing spells are also destroyed by melting the gold down (listed in the books). Pay any necessary tax on mining income and your money is legit. Skills needed profession miner to know how to do this but any rog can come up with the idea of fencing gold threw a mine and rind a suitably corrupt out of work mine manager to set up the specifics. This will require gather information. Just be shore not to give him a reason to rob you and watch him closely. Edward |
| Edward07-12-04, 04:30 AM | The trading with a dragon idea works. Just don’t call any part of his horde measly, don’t bring most of the ingots with you to the first meeting, treat him with the upmost respect and pay him a generous gratuity. Start the bargaining at 5% but expect to pay 20%. Edward |
| Derren S.07-12-04, 05:29 AM | Or you could use the gold bars to pay other shady characters to get you some other valuables. Risky, but you can even make some more profit out of it. |
| JLP07-12-04, 11:45 AM | Some really fun ideas here. The gold mine one could be even more fun. Take a few gold bars, reduce them to little tiny chunks, maybe use a rasp to turn them into really coarse filings. Then take all that, find some sort of explosive device, pack 'em in, then take 'em into an old abandoned mine (that you own) and explode the device, thus "salting" the mine with gold. Go back into town and spread some rumours about a gold strike, then wait a few days, go back to the businessman you stole the gold from and con him into buying the mine. When he asks to see proof, take him and a couple of his cronies into the mine, dig randomly, show him how rich the pay dirt is. Take him for as much as you can get out of him, then head for the next town and repeat. Since the first businessman won't want to admit that he got conned, chances are slim that anyone'll suspect you the next time you do this. |
| Ilium07-12-04, 02:42 PM | 1) Whack the gold bars with a hammer/maul/angle iron/whatever, making sure to obscure the stamps. 2) Paint them grey. 3) Disguise yourself as a merchant 4) Deliver your load of "lead ingots" to a far-away city. |
| Korhal_IV07-12-04, 03:00 PM | Try and find a blacksmith in the area who is either easily deceived, corrupt, or has family/friends that he cares about. Then either lure him away ("did you hear about that blacksmith's competition in the next town over?"), bribe him ("Willing to go to the fair in the next town over? Hmm?"), or blackmail him ("Juliette is waiting for you in the next town over. If you hurry, she might still be in one piece when you get there."). Then, use the forge to melt the seals. You don't have to melt the whole bar, necessarily, just remove the seal. Then sell them off to underground fences, or chop them up into smaller pieces for haggling with merchants and such. Investing in the magic items that Tevish mentioned is a good idea. Another good one would be paying for Teleport Without Error to put yourself far, far away from the angry noble. Plane Shift would be a cheaper, although riskier, alternative. |
| ninjarabbit07-12-04, 05:50 PM | If you want to negotiate with a dragon, at least make sure it's a good dragon. |
| *Truean*07-12-04, 06:14 PM | Thanks for the ideas guys.... As for running like crazy (Checks off the list).... I'm on the other side of the country and trying to find a way to get further.... I... am... gone.... (all that gold fits nicely into the bottom of halfling clan wagons that I helped out [it actually is safe; I saved the whole freaking clan and they are actually pretty honorable ... to me anyway...]. I still paid them off just in case. Besides, I like them....) The problem is that I made enough of a dent to attract some attention if the guy ever finds out it was me.... ;>). My DM is evil (as be he should) so I know I've only got an unknown (to me) limited amount of time before someone traces me.... I suppose I need someone with a creative eye for bussiness and money laundering here.... The gold mine was good and the dragon wasn't bad (sorry man but I'm not going near old smokey). The problem is that my DM is a freaking evil genius and I (and my character) know that the above ideas are exactly what this sadistic bussiness man would expect. In other words, he'd be looking for things like that.... I have 98 gold bars left, which translates nicely into $490,000 gp (98 bars times 5000 a bar). I promissed two of them to the halfling clan, but they don't want to be caught carrying those things for the same reason I don't want to: too easily tracable.... Now, I'm in a town with a good harbor (i.e. ships), but my cargo is a bit ... risky.... How the crap do I transport this stuff? I'm thinking about buying a crapload of cheap pottery or maybe hay or something to serve as a cover item.... But again, I'm not sure.... Who'd have thought that I'd be having this much trouble with this treasure.... I know that if I don't find a way to cover myself I'm dead.... I almost know it.... This guy is not going to let half a million gp slide, and I think that he still has the resources to find me given sufficent time.... Truean |
| Edward07-12-04, 07:17 PM | The problem with negotiating with a good dragon is that it may have some annoying moral issues with how you obtained the items your offering in trade. What you want is a lawful neutral dragon (if such exists in your world) or next best is lawful evil. Edward |
| HamHam07-12-04, 07:41 PM | Originally posted by *Truean* Now, I'm in a town with a good harbor (i.e. ships), but my cargo is a bit ... risky.... Go to the local inn and look for captains sitting around with an Owlbear (or whatever you would consider the most appropriate D&D Wooky-replacement) and ask him how fast his ship is. ;) Or, take a page (or an episode, I guess) out of Lupin III and melt the gold down into a carriage shape and paint over it. ;) You could always skip out of the Prime Material and hide out in your plane of choice for a while. |
| Art_Tillary07-12-04, 08:45 PM | The gold mine idea has a draw back. Mines generally don't produce much gold per day. They also produce something like 1,000 pounds of dirt / rock per pound of gold (or a worse ratio). Need to check a decent book or website out. If the mine all of a sudden has a huge jump in production it will get noticed by somebody. Gold is also very heavy. If you try and disquise it, choose an appropiate thing. Lead bars for export to a war are good. From what I have seen on silver bars, and on TV about gold bars, the seal is just a huge impression on the surface. It is used to show the gold is a certain purity since it comes from a known source. A good sized hammer will remove the seal on the bars. Now you have the problem of getting the analyzed for purity. A blacksmith's shop will not have the equipment to melt down gold. The smith will not have a crucible or anything to pour it into. I think chop it up and get a bunch of corruptiable gold smiths to create things like rings and table ware. You're going to have to sit on the gold for a long time I think unless you can find a good fence. In real life the police look for sudden wealth. Hence mobsters need to live lives that about match their reported income. AT |
| Tehril07-12-04, 09:34 PM | You could exit the province/country for the next one...and the next one...and the next one... etc. What you need to do is cut the bars into 1/4 or 1/2 chunks, preferably destroying the seal in the process, but as long as the merchants seal is not known in that area (gather information checks) then you should be all right. Find a gold smith that is willing to craft as many high quality gold rings etc from those chunks as possible... keeping perhaps one or more to pay for his services...or if the items are expensive enough, one to sell...which should both pay for his services AND net him some profit... Something no merchant would pass up if he had no particular questions about the origin of the gold chunks. Again, you have to cut the chunks down into pieces appropriate for what you want. Gold rings don't take much gold compared to a lump of gold the size of your fist. Just give them enough to make a nice, small number of whatever you wish to have them make. This way, the local economy is not flooded with gold items. Also, you need to change your disguise and name every time, to throw off any investigations. Now... this will take time, and you will have to move on frequently. The benefit is that you can now sell those gold trinkets for cash... which has the happy effect of exchanging that bothersome and traceable gold for coins... and the added benefit of increasing your profit! Now, your first concern is transporting your goods.... but just before that is protecting them! You need something that is sturdy but won't attract attention. Next, you need to have Obscure Object cast on it (or whatever that spell is). Perhaps a permanent anti magic field around the container would be best. You must prevent anyone from scrying or otherwise casting a divination spell on the gold bullions... which would allow them to teleport to them and retrieve them. They might also catch you in the spell effect as well... or you might be around when the teleport. Expect this from a righ merchant/angered thieves guild and an Evil DM. |
| Enslaved DM07-12-04, 09:51 PM | Forget the magic lizard. Even good dragons lust after gold and considering that yours is ill gotten and the original owner is a nasty piece of work it would be far too easy for it to come to the conclusion that is the most deserving recipient of the horde. And 500K is too much of a temptation for a neutral dragon. |
| Mitchell07-12-04, 10:39 PM | Take some of the stolen gold to the assassins guild. Offer to overpay them to put the hit on the businessman. They certainly won't care about being paid in stolen gold, and the fact that you overpay for the contract gives them extra incentive. A down payment up front, rest upon completion. Once the businessman is dead, all you have to worry about is the first wave of hunters. If you can get rid of them, there won't be anymore, and you will probably only have to deal with some of these (logically, if they spread out, a portion of them will report back, and upon finding their employer deceased, will consider their contracts fulfilled). |
| Eagle Vision07-13-04, 03:43 AM | Simple, have all your stuff made of metal reforged with gold. you'll have some pure gold left, and the melted gold equip is untraceble. of course, the remaining gold is going to a assasin guild (like mitchell suggested0 and having the remainder melted into gp. how bout that? |
| Eagle Vision07-13-04, 03:43 AM | Sorry, double post. |
| Chronos07-13-04, 12:39 PM | Just find a corrupt merchant that will buy the gold from you, make the deal irresistable to him, give him like a 50k profit. Than, before he has a chance to spread any of these gold bars around kill him and take the 50k you gave him as a profit back. Somone will come looking for him, find the gold bars, trace them back to the noble, the noble gets his gold back, and he stops looking for you. |
| Alexander_Dane07-13-04, 01:35 PM | The merchant had to have other enemies besides you and the thieves guild you used to work for. My suggestion would be using your "good" wizard friend from your dialog to find these individuals, set up a metting with them, and promise them the the merchant has X amount of gold to prompt an attack. That should keep the merchants people busy. Or if your wizard friend also belongs to a guild, like the Hosttower of the Arcane or some such, why not pay them abit of your prize for protection. More than likely a mage guild of any repute will have the ability to deal/trade with far away lands or maybe send you to wherever it is you decide to go. Last but not least, give the halflings up as bait... i mean really, with that kind of money you can buy yourself some new friends. Or go to the mountains, find Half-Fang Dragon Grapple Fighters Clan that you can pay off with the gold (they wont care its marked) and live your life in peace, or take your newlybought clan and lay to waste the town you stole the gold from. Oh wait... heres one more... find a horribly powerful Lich Archmage that needs a loan, and give it to him. If he doesnt kill you, then it was worth it! :D Alex |
| *Truean*07-13-04, 08:09 PM | Ok, the abovementioned suggenstions are mostly pretty damn evil. I'm Chaotic Good / Choatic Neutral (at worst), this merchant made Charles Manson look sane. I'm a theif not an assasin: there is a huge difference.... Can't do most of them because: I don't screw over my friends, these halflings are the reason I'm alive ("Buying" friends will only get you one thing: betrail). I don't think you realize the power this man has: He probably has ties with all the assasin guilds so that's not even an option if I did want to do it.... He is still pretty well off. You'll notice I said that I "made a dent" that was about right: just a dent. I suppose I could accurately compare him to the mob.... only worse.... I really have to come up with a way to save my own skin here.... The wizard friend is a member of the halfling clan. So, he isn't in anything but the clan... (I met him while saving the clan). Any ideas on how I could inconspiciously fake my own death? Would I even have to? You see the thieve's guild I was with only let you out on one condition: death.... So there's a very good chance that they think I'm dead... (otherwise I certainly would be anyway...). I really don't feel like dying here.... Even though it would be rich... it's still dead.... In the end I'm not even sure this guy could trace it to me without the aid of divination spells ( he might be able to get those "who stole my freaking gold!?!?" spells. Truean |
| Sildatorak07-13-04, 08:32 PM | If you're looking to fake your own death, you could do worse than a sword of spellstoring with a feign death. Have one of your friends in disguise attack you in a place where you will be seen. After a couple of stabs have him go ahead and set the spell off on you, which drops you. He drags you off, and your head shows up impaled on a pike someplace later. Of course the head is actually one you've dug up or got off an orc or something that has been subject to polymorph any object. |
| Tevish Szat07-14-04, 01:04 AM | you can fegin your death without magic. You're in a port? Buy a ship in the name associated with the theft. if possible, use identifible stolen gold to buy the ship. Put a few holes in it, launch it, and light it on fire as it sinks in deeper water. it was your (The theif's) boat plain and simple, and when you vanish with it it will be assumed you're in Davy Jones' locker. if you leave a couple bricks with the ship, it will be even more convincing. Edit: the Brick or two becoause the wreck might be investigated. |
| Edward07-14-04, 01:30 AM | You probably made more than a dent. He had half a mill in gold bars. Gold bars are only good for trading and traders only pull together that much cash for a deal. It my only be a dent in his overall wealth but it should be most of his ready cash. This would mean he is even more pised of at you (he needed that money for something and raising more ready cash will be difficult) and he may not be in a position to chace you… yet. If he could rase the caser to go threw with his deal he will not want do divert resources to your capture if he cant ready the cash again (or he just concluded a deal where he got the cash) getting enough ready cash to chase you down and get his gold back will be easy. Although many GMs don’t think of the fact that merchants consider gold in the basement wasted capital. (unless they are using it as security in witch case he will be in the sh** now that it is missing.) As to the faking of your death. I like the spell storing feign death idea and the boat idea but what you really want is a body. Obtain the services of a wizard that knows the clone spell. It is an 8th level spell and would cost approximately 2300gp to have it cast at minimum caster level. You clone yourself. As you are not dead the clone is “a soulless bit of inert flesh which rots if not preserved” you damage it in such a way to mach the cause of death you desire and leave it in an appropriate place. Tangled in the ropes of your boat with a broken neck or bodily impaled on a pike after the feign death suggestion. Just do engulf damage to the body that speak with dead will not function. A psion with true creation could do it as well but he woud need a craft skill check (I would probably use heal as craft) and you would need to work out the GP value of your body. Clone is better Edward |
| lantzer07-14-04, 10:43 AM | The simple way: Find an isolated place to melt the gold in a cauldron. It doesn't have to be a big one. Drip molten gold into cold water. You get a bunch of oddly shaped gold lumps and flakes, otherwise known as nuggets. For better verisimulatude, mix a few impurities in. Not too much, as gold is relatively pure when found, compared to other ores. Bring them in, a few at a time. If anybody asks - tell them you've been panning a mountain stream. If they ask where, tell them it's _your_ stream and mind their own business. Geez, next thing you know _everybody_ would be up there panning it out. Brag about the fact that magic helps take the backbreaking labor out of prospecting. If you've been seen around town a lot, sigh and repeat the last point - Magic does the work. You're a wizard. If you had to supervise all the time, it would be like actual work. Simpletons. Allow yourself to get rooked for a bit of your new-found income. Especially by the paticular merchant you fear. Don't let anybody follow you back to your 'gold stream'. It won't look suspicious, as who would want folks horning in on a good thing? Pay any appropriate taxes. They shouldn't be too high - the local lord would love to have people looking for gold and paying him his cut. If taxes get too high, smuggling starts to be a problem. Sometimes the best place to hide is in plain sight. |

Maybe get a cleric to make dummies of you and throw them overboard with witneses and a few gold bars on the bodies. Dumb noble=Nobel out of the question |
| *Truean*07-14-04, 04:39 PM | Some good suggestions and points there.... I'll have to keep those in mind.... That is as long as my head is attached to my shoulders (litterally ;>) ). I managed to roleplay a little last night and it went something like this: I disguised myself as a warrior type mercinary (which with my rouge stats could easily pass as a fighter of about 3/4 my level but I aimed even lower than that) from a foriegn land (which I had thankfully read enough about to pull off). I still had a suit of "fake scale" armor, which was really leather armor that looked like scale ( had stats for leather, but was more expensive because of the disguise.... complements of my former compatriots the thieves' guild...). Anyhow, someone such as myself passed off as a fighter easily enough.... I went on a "low level adventure" with a low level party in disguise as a fighter type. We got rid of a colony of gaint ants; the "friendly mage" from my previous posts layed low and took the time for making magic items he had been meaning to create. I figured that the thing I'm most vulnerable to would have to be divination magic (as I'm sure the merchant would hire a spell caster given time), so I asked the abovementioned mage to take care of that with some of the gold as a starting point. I have no idea what he would want to make... I'm willing to pay for good arcane protection.... Any ideas...? The only question is: could I use the stolen gold to pay for magic item creation? Also, could I create something magical to get me and my gold even farther out of dodge than I already am? If possible I'd like to find out where my normal adventuring party is and meet up with them again without exposing them to the dangers I've created.... Could I simply have him pay for his creation of the magic items with the gold? I suppose that depends on exactly how that works doesn't it? Do you throw the price in GP it takes to create the magic item into the culdron and just start chanting what you want?? or could the magic item creation be traced too?? Anyhow, being the level that I am against the "low level" monsters I did really well even as a fighter.... My DM, being evil as he is, threw in something that was an appropreate challenge for me that managed to just about wipe out the rest of the little adventuring party I hooked up with.... Translation: I saved their butts by dropping it with a sneak attack and some swordwork.... So now they like me ;>). I'm starting to worry.... It's been about 2 weeks in game time since I left the original city: Week and a half with Halfling clan moving cross country via wagon.... 1/2 a week clearing gaint ant colonies and having a wizard make items... I didn't ask him what he made yet, but he's got a very nice looking rapier that seems made for me.... Let it be the Rapier of Stabity Death!! ;>) Staying Alive, Truean |

| Lokiyn07-14-04, 08:02 PM | if anyone has the faerun hand book it has a section devoted to currency somewhere. basically in most worlds coin is minted by pretty much anyone with a press and no one cares because an ounce of gold is an ounce of gold regardless of who's stamp is on it. if you are so worried though. gather some friends and "adventure" mint that soft gold cut it with maybe 2% silver to stiffen it up like most coins and duplicate some ancient coin you find in a kobold burrow. say you found some ruins. Who's going to doubt you? honestly i can come in from adventures with a 500 pound sack of gold from nethril or older and no one cares. thats whats so awsome about using precious metals as currency. just to be a jerk i usually have my character melt down his coins and cast new ones with his face on it just for an ego boost. |
| Edward07-14-04, 10:52 PM | If you know a wizards with teleport (TPWE better) then you can do the gold panning one saying you are mining it in an extremely remote location. Nobody will know where to gold rush. Of cause there are unsavoury types that will kidnap you and torcher you for the location. Also under different identities you can sell gold from such a venture in different towns if you have the transportation. If you use the lone body idea add a misdirection so any divinations on you will find the clone body. The recast idea works as well but I wouldn’t bring it all out at once. Hide what you don’t need at the moment after recasting it. Make some of it into gaudy statues as well. Or recast it as crude ingots and claim it was a gaudy statue to big for you to move. Edward |

| The Master Weaver Is Warped07-18-04, 10:42 AM | Originally posted by HamHam And Voila, you've just started a gold rush! ;) And lots of related cover for you. Salt another stream let someone else follow you there. Fake your death with this follower, make it so they even believe they have killed you, and stolen your source. Then you can come back with a different idenity and sell everyone prospecting equipment. Just so you know, the scry spell does not work on objects, only people. You do have a problem if you don't alter the bars. A Bard with ledgen lore would know where they came from and who took them. Worse, they might make up a song about it. Then you are really screwed. |
