| Master_of_Rouges01-01-08, 06:45 PM | Ok so my DM is making us role backup charcters for his campaign. And all i really want to be is a rogue, but my friend already rolled one up and i dont want another one in the group. So here's some of my favorite basic classes just mix them with something to give me an idea. Fighter Rogue Barbarian Ranger |

If you like being a tank then probably fighter, if you want to be an archer then either ranger or fighter (fighter can possibly even pull off being an archer better then ranger due to the fact that he can get over 2x the number of feats a ranger gets so he can match the combat style in addition to getting the wep focus and spec tree.) Finally, if you want to just deal damage straight out then probably barbarian. |

| Orchomenos01-03-08, 01:12 PM | What kind of rogue is your friend's PC? You could try to build something complementary. For example, you can focus on other skills than he is. And what do you like about rogues? Tons of d6 when you sneak attack, tons of skill points to spend on hide/move silently/listen/spot, or on other skills? At which level are you starting? If you're high enough level, you could maximize Use Magic Device, and sneak attack with wands... But since your other choices are fighter, ranger & barbarian, I doubt you want to bother about magic... ;) |
