Good paper character sheets [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm going to be in a campaign for a few sessions soon, and I'm running into a bit of a conundrum with character sheets. Previously, for one-session campaign joinings, I've made them in (the new) stat block format. This works really well, since that format is specifically made to get information off of easily, for DMs running monsters that aren't going to last long.

Now, however, I'm going to be joining for at least three sessions (possibly four or five). So I probably need something closer to a full character sheet, which includes information like skill ranks and stuff that gets buried into one-time calculations with a stat block. However, I really liked the in-combat simplicity of the stat block format. Do you have any suggestions for "stat-block like" character sheets I could use? That is, ones that are really easy to use and refer to in-combat (and while making common out-of-combat skill checks), but still qualify as a character sheet instead of a stat block?

08-29-07, 12:38 PM I would keep two sheets, one the "master copy" of everything about your character, and a second that is in the simplified format for combats like you have been using.

Agreed. Just put your character down on a normal character sheet, then take one of the ones you like and fill it in.

08-29-07, 10:38 PM how about a piece of notebook paper? That always works for us. Use our Character sheets for leveling and a scrape paper for everything else. Cost 10-50 Cents.
