| ErikkuShafer12-24-03, 12:31 AM | Hello all, tiss Erikku the stupid :D Before I get going, I do make typing errors and stupid comments. I also have stupid ideas. So this is the warning I guess  .... I am currently the tank and main melee damager in a group. We have... level 5 Forest Gnome Wizard (elementalist) level 4 Drow Sorcerer/Rogue (2 levels in each) level 4 Half Vampire Monk (who just shoots his crossbow! AHHH! And doesn't does much dmg in melee) level 4 Cleric / Fighter. Hoping to becoming a Hospitiler soon. And me... I'm a Sylvan Elf (level 5) who is trying to copy Drizzt (eh, I'm bored. Shoot me :behold: ) So basicly I am the tank (untill our Cleric gains some hospitiler levels) and melee damage (monk has a crossbow, and the gnome and drow use all their spells) Now, this should go in the min max board soon (I'll make a new topic for it) but what shoudl I do about my classes? My DM is letting me fix my character as I am trying to do what is best for the group. The concept is easy; be a dervisher and get AC up the wazzuh. I want to keep my currently build (DM is letting me an extra feat at level 1 FYI) 3.0 Sylvan Elf Bonuses: +2 str/dex, -2 con/int/cha SCORES I ROLLED: 18, 17, 16, 14, 12, 10 (and then add an ability +1) STR: 16 + 2 = 18 DEX: 18 + 2 = 20 CON: 16 - 2 = 14 INT: 14 - 2 = 12 WIS: 12 + 0 = 12 CHA: 10 - 2 = 8 1. rgr1 [ Track, W.Focus: Scimitar, Dodge ] 2. rgr2 [ Two Weapon Fighting ] 3. rgr2 - ftr1 [ Mobility, Combat Expertise ] 4. rgr2 - ftr2 [ Two Weapon Defence ] 5. rgr2 - ftr2 - swb1 [ Weapon Finese ] 6. rgr2 - ftr2 - swb1 - drv1 [ improved two weapon fighting ] 7. rgr2 - ftr2 - swb1 - drv2 8. rgr2 - ftr2 - swb1 - drv3 9. rgr2 - ftr2 - swb1 - drv4 [ improved critical ] 10. .?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?. Now, I currently am wielding a Keen Scimitar and a +1 Defending Scimitar but as you see level 9 I get improved Critical so I can sell the keen one and get a more damaging more. If that makes sense. I feel the the build is good, I am just wondering if it can be better. I just got a ring of protection +1 and a +1 resistance cloak so with all that stuff my AC is doing pretty well... [ Mithril Chainshirt of Nimbless +1 ] 10 + 5[dex] + 5[armor] + 1[dodge] + 1[t.w.Def] + 1[ring.proc] + 1[+1def scimitar] = 24 (and I have the option of Combat Expertise all at level 5) ... and later I add Dervisher AC bonuses and get Gloves of Dex and upgrade my Scimitar and Ring. AND BACK TO THE POINT... I feel like with a High AC and good Hit Points (I rolled VERY well... rgr1 = full, rgr2 = 7, ftr = 9, ftr2 = 7, swb = 8) and with some decent damage I should be ok. The scimitars will be keen and later be Improved Crit'd so I am thinking of some sort of good enchantment. Any ideas? Flame and Comment on :smirk: |
| DM Zoc12-24-03, 03:00 AM | I know the Sylvan Elf is 3.0, but if it's a 3.5 campaign then Keen doesn't stack with Improved Crit. |
| Raist27m12-24-03, 08:24 AM | On top of your own character build, ask the casters to take spells that will buff you for combat. |
| Hilln12-24-03, 10:16 AM | ...lvl 4? You got enough magic equipment for a lvl 10!!! (or a lvl 8) |
| ErikkuShafer12-24-03, 01:37 PM | Everything above is correct as I said it would be (look for that :embarrass ) It is a 3.5 campaign but I have a 3.0 Sylvan Elf and yes those are the items I have. Now the new Cleric we just got (Hospitler soon) will probably buff us up and that will help. Any other ideas? |
| ErikkuShafer12-25-03, 12:04 AM | *bump* |
| ErikkuShafer12-26-03, 11:21 AM | Bump I say, Bump! C'mon guys, I need some advice here :( |
| Serene Selene12-29-03, 12:58 PM | Well, you asked for it. *Loads her shotgun. BAM.* |
| Winternova12-29-03, 06:04 PM | I'd assume the people in the Character Optimization boards are less likely to shoot when these questions are asked, but then again I avoid that place... |
