| Shadowfox_Drow_Assasin08-10-06, 06:27 PM | how would I go about creating a character who is half drow and half tiefling to be leveled up to a level four character? to all of you with an answer, I'd be much abliged to be givin that answer. thank you all Shadowfox |
| X-Codes08-10-06, 06:33 PM | People aren't "Half Tiefling." Tieflings are Humanoids (almost always Humans) who are decended from fiends and inherit a power that alters them on a fundamental level. Essentially, if one of your parents is a Tiefling then you're a Tiefling. |
| KirkBb08-10-06, 06:33 PM | you have three choices that I can see, one is just making it a drow with all of the tiefling stats added in. I'm pretty sure this would give you a +3 LA, so you would have a level 1 character with an ECL of 4 The other method is simply playing a half elf, they don't specify for sub-races, so your in the clear, and it could be said that half of teifling= no more demonic energy left. With this method, you would have an LA of 0, and use the half-elf race with no changes, meaning you would make the level 4 character like any other. Play a Fey'ri, I think they were in monsters of Faerun or something like that, they are demonic descendants of elves. |
| wonlee7608-10-06, 07:57 PM | One last option is be a Drow and toss on the Half-Fiend Template for a horrible +6 LA. It gets you the drow + fiend thing going for you but +6 LA is just a horrible idea. Other option is Half-Elf (drow) with the Half-Fiend Template for a more reasonable +4 LA. Final option: In one of the Forgotten Realms book is the Fey'Ri race. Elven fiends. LA varies from +2 to +3 depending on what abilities you pick up. You can pretend the elven portion is drow though mechanically I don't see that having any real effect on stats for the Fey'Ri. |
| Shadowfox_Drow_Assasin08-12-06, 05:52 PM | see, i wanted to go tiefling to be full of dark evil energy and watnot that tieflings have, while retaining my love for the drow and their ways, so a final question would be, a back story for all of the above optins, with the exception of the +6 LA, because it is indeed horrible. he/she is to eventually become a shadowdancer, which is why i wanted to be dark and all that stuff to make, in my oppinion, a truly scary dark embued character, who is good in batle, whilst retaining good skills out side of combat.now, as for region, doesn't matter as long as it is closely tied to evil races or cities.i chose(which is not set in stone) helruaa, which im not sure of for the evil part, but for its magical training regional feat, so id have a bit of an edge on others like me(as few as there are).he uses two morning stars, a composite shortbow, and has two backup daggers, and has a wristband of darts tiped in sleep poison(drow enfluence).on his other wrist there are seven vials of oil or similar flammable substance, and a gnome-made mechanism so that as they are pulled from there holdings, a tindertwig ignights and lights the molotauve coctail(if you call it that).ill have to looks up the changes and stats for a fey'ri, but ive seen a pic, and i like the idea already. thank you all for your usefull ideas yours truly, Shadowfox |
| tizonacampeador08-13-06, 05:11 PM | The fey'ri seem to be your best bet. To clarify a little they are sun elves that mixed with succubi and incubi to strengthen their bloodline. You will automatically have a pretty strong magical backround- they are elves with spell like abilities. They're found in Races of Faerun. |
| INeedNoSalt08-13-06, 05:41 PM | A tiefling's blood is already diluted. I'd say a half-tiefling/half-drow would just be a drow. Also, drow are already 'lol evilz'. You don't need drow and demon blood to be dark and badass and so kewl omg. |
| X-Codes08-13-06, 06:35 PM | Magical Training is a weak regional feat, and you can only get it from Halruaa if you are Human, not Planetouched or Elf. Magic in the Blood for being a Drow from Menzoberranyr is much better for this character since it gives you more uses of Darkness and Faerie Fire, spells which can really help you manipulate concealment which is important playing a Shadowdancer. |
