Half Ogre Cleric of _____? (VOL. 2) [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-23-04, 12:01 PM I would like to come up with a charecter concept of a half ogre cleric. Probably for 3.0. (But if from a different campaign setting please let me know. Anything official may be allowed in my game.)

Kind of the gentle giant idea. Perhaps he'd be more of a quarter ogre than half. He difinately looks more like a big human with some orgrish features. I am thinking he was found on the steps of a church and raised as a cleric by the clergy therin.

I want him to be of the good or lawful or alltogether neutral persuasion to go with the rest of my gaming group. How plausable would such a PC be?

Could I do it?

What God would fit him best? I would like a good healer, but can hold his own in a melee.

Pelor was my first pick, and I think that is where the scale is leaning.

But Pelor is a good choice too.

04-24-04, 06:29 PM You haven't specified whether you're using just the basic PHB gods, or the more extensive Greyhawk pantheon.

Rao is a god of peace, reason and serenity - a LG god. He might do well. If you don't mind giving your ogre-blooded cleric a naturalist bent, you could have him serve Ehlonna. A smithy-god (Bleredd or Fortubo, for instance) would provide good background for a strong-yet-peaceful attitude.

I know it's disallowed by the "race requirements" of the 3.0 (and presumably 3.5) cleric, but you could always try to talk your DM into letting him be the first ever half-ogre cleric of Garl Glittergold...)

04-29-04, 03:13 PM We have been able to choose from any Pantheon we want. I have decided to go with a Cleric of Thor. CG and all rough and tumble.
