| durin121103-22-06, 04:39 PM | This Saturday will be the 2nd time that I have been playing D&D with this group. I asked my Best Friend who I don't get to see to often if he would come up and play D&D with us. I cleared it with the DM and even though we already have an Archer my friend is going to play a fighter that uses a Longbow. He has never played before and I just hope that he doesn't through off the rythm of the group as they are all rather experienced players except my friend and I. How do most D&D groups feel about friends joining in Campaign's. |

Over the years when a new person has joined groups I've been in, it has been kind fun helping them learn and seeing the excitment of their first cool kill of a monster or a cleverly role-played situation. Two things can happen; you can add to the group or take away from it. You'll never know which it'll be until you are knee deep in it. |

It is possiable that the group of experienced members might get thrown off by newbie. An experienced member should take your friend aside and see if he picks up the game quickly and has a general understanding of how that game works. Then see if he fits in with the group by playing for a few weeks. If its a perfect fit then he will pick up the nessary skills with time. |
