| Fox Lupine04-19-07, 07:29 AM | well, thats the notion. a 5 swashbuckler, 5 dashing swordsman in a tenth level game. I've got 46,000 GP to spend, after buying a rod of roped (discounted and faulty, for humor) So, heres a list of stuff i want, but am having trouble finding in my books.... Naturally- a good rapier. How much am i looking at for something worth having- my level? Enhancement? Keen? Heres the difficult one- Some armor- preferably no higher than studded leather, however, leathers even better (no armor check penalty at all). I'll obviously need enhancement bonuses- how much will that cost me...and heres the tough bit. I'd rather it didn't appear as Leather armor. The rest of you swashbucklers know what I'm talking about, and the dashing swordsman even more so ^^ you want something that looks just like cool 'Clothy piratey' stuff Heres a fun one. Buisness cards. "You have just had your life saved by Gillan Locke. This card permits you to buy him one drink of no more than 1gp. This card expires in two weeks of the recipiants aqquisition" ^^ Thats all I'm haviong difficulty with- I've never really been good with weapon enhancement bonuses. If no further help, can someone post me the guidelines page in the books? Thanks :-) |

Or a ring or other item for Mage Armor and/or Shield? Btw: From which book is the Dashing Swordsman? Sounds very interesting! |
| Fox Lupine04-19-07, 07:57 AM | Here comes the explanation. Dashing Swordsman was a prestige class from, a webcomic, intended as a joke. Nonetheless, we the fans love it. There have been a few versions,. but I'm going to playtest the one from these boards, with 'Razor wit' at first level- (thanks to the authot, i forget who) Look up the order of the stick- its the character Elan :-) (don't have the link on here) and thanks for the suggestion...lets find dem bracers.... |
| Kit_the_Odd04-19-07, 09:47 AM | Couple things for the armor. 1) masterwork armor (and therefore magic armor) reduces ACP by 1, therefore masterwork or magic studded leather has an ACP of 0. 2) look at the 'glammered' special ability for armor, it is 2700gp. It allows you to have your armor look like whatever kind of clothing you want, without losing any of its protection. Also, a mithril chain shirt has no ACP (mithril gives a -3 to ACP, +2 to max Dex bonus, & -10% spell failure). All for a mere 1100gp. |

| thisisaspace04-19-07, 07:30 PM | if your character is an elf, you might consider the elven blades in the book Races of the Wild. with the elven lightblade basically a rapier as a light weapon, elven thinblade which is a rapier with d8 damage, and even a two handed elven courtblade which does 1d10 piercing or slashing. all weapon finesse applicable. as for enchantments. with your resources, the ones you're able to get that are present on the DMG are up to a +4 equivelent. so maybe an elemental burst keen weapon? or elemental burst thundering weapon and dish out a feat on improved critical. |
