I need help with making my first character sheet. I have read the players handbook but can still not work out where sopme of the stats go, (like where do weapons go) and weather you have 1 for the whole character or one per campaign. Could someon please show me a filled in character sheet so I can work out ho w they work and where to put everything?

I'm pretty sure the Player's Handbook still includes a filled-in sample character sheet at the back.

Your character sheet represents a specific character, so it is independent of any particular campaign. If you finish one campaign and start another with the same character, you use the same character sheet - and if your character dies and you bring in a new character in the same campaign, you make a new character sheet.

The standard character sheet includes places to list stats for a few weapons. If your character has more weapons than the sheet has spaces, write the stats for the other weapons in the margins, or find a custom character sheet with more space (there are plenty online, and a Google search should locate them easily enough).

I could not find a filled in sheet anywhere in the book. There is the blank sheet at the back, then index, glossary then into spells andall the other chapters.

Sorry, I was misremembering. The original 3rd-edition Player's Handbook included an example character sheet, but I guess they dropped it from the revised edition.

There's a "do this stuff here" thing in the beginning of the book for original 3.0.

My 3.5 Handbook has the character sheet rigth after the index, however if yours wasn't printed with one there are character sheets on the WotC website: (the normal one is the one a the very top)
