| Shard of Suzail10-31-04, 03:33 PM | Great shame to lose the spells. If i was playing that prestige class i`d jump at the chance to get at that spell list. As to having a prestige class that early, i`m not a fan of that. I much prefer a well rounded character at level 6 to 8 before i take on prestige. An extra d6 sneak attack is popcorn compared to the power of arcane spells though. As to weapon of choice, a dagger or short sword. Dont get two weapon fighting. Get skill emphasis hide or something useful from the dodge tree. Maybe improved initiative. |
| Board_Rider10-31-04, 09:34 PM | Agreed, no need for the TWF. This class combination is not attack based anyway so why the need for the extra attack....especially with a -2. Assuming your DEX is higher than your STR you could get Weapon Finnesse. Another good "TREE" is to work towards Spring Attack. But I would stick to the spells and find a way tio augment them and your ability to hide, move silently and use that DA whenever possible. |

I'm hoping you posted your level in Rogue incorrectly, cause you need 8 ranks in Hide and Move Silently to be an Assassin. Also, why would you give up those spells? +1d6 Sneak Attack really isn't worth it :nonono: |
| Uber Goblin10-31-04, 10:26 PM | BAH, I say Take TWF and this is why You are making a damage tank and want to get those extra d6's as much as you can. with two weapon fighting you will want to take a Rapier and a small rapier. This gives you two weapons that have 18-20 and by virtue of being small, the offhanded rapier that is now 1d4 18-20 is light! Call it a "Main Gauche" and you have a real weapon from fencing :) now then, first thing you need is a ring of blinking. This ring is made like the Rouge Rapier(thats the name? well somethig like that) from Savage Species as it gives you your sneak attack damage from EVERY HIT!!!! SO since you have TWF thats one more chance to get a buncha d6's. Then you need boots of haste, or something of speed. Oh, and if that ring can be improved invisibilty thats an extra +2 to hit as well. Now to finish it off get something of nondetection so most forms of magic can't see through your invisibility. If you want to get anul you can even get a minor float spell on your boots so you hover above the ground and tremere sense can't see you either :) With what your saying about the extra D6 from no spells your probably up to about 4d6 on an attack, so lets look at your damage if you use my combo and if you hit. 1d6 rapeir, 1d6 rapier, 1d4 main gauche, 4d6+4d6+4d6 = 15-88 Thats without your STR and thats not including ANY bonus's to damage. so lets find the average of 15-88, Thats 51.5 damage a round....damn.... So thats a good way to been up the damage, and if those weapons are keen to boot you will have loads of fun dishing out assasin worthy damage. And don't forget to poison!!! Use constitution posion :) heh heh heh |
