I am planning on playing my first druid and havent played one before in 3.0 or 3.5. Need help with planning out my feats. I will be human and can take 2 flaws for 2 additional feats. This will give me 4 at 1st level. The books allowed are players handbook, monster manual 1, complete arcane, complete divine, complete warrior, complete adventurer, unearthed arcana, and dungeon masters guide. One other thing the DM is letting us gestalt(sp) for 6 levels. This basically lets us pick another class for those 6 levels gaining the benefits of both and taking the better of any redunant skills or abilities. The only restriction is I wont be able to pick an arcane caster class other then bard. So basically what I could use help with is the feat tree and what class you think compliments druids well. I was leaning towards monk or maybe barbarian. any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

TAKE BARD.

Druid&Bard 6 /Arcane Heirophant* 4 / Rogue 2 / Fochlucan Lyrist** 8

Druid casting : 18th level
Bard casting: 18th level
Wild Shape level: 10th
Base Attack Bonus: +16

or

Druid&Bard 6 / Arcane Heirophant 10 / Mystic Theurge 4

Druid casting : 20th level
Bard casting: 20th level
Wild Shape level: 16th
Base Attack Bonus: +13(?) - not sure about Arcane Heirophant's bonus

*Races of the Wild
**Complete Adventurer

I know most games don't run up to 20th level, but either way, you lose almost nothing from Druid and you gain most of what's available from the entirety of the Bard spell list.

Edit: Sorry, lost the list of allowed sources in the text.

Drawing from that, I'd suggest:

Druid&Bard 6 /Mystic Theurge 2/ Rogue 2 / Fochlucan Lyrist** 10

Druid casting : 18th level
Bard casting: 18th level
Wild Shape Level: 6th
Base Attack Bonus: +16

Sorry for the oversight.

He can't use Races of the Wild. Reread the paragraph.

players handbook
monster manual 1
complete arcane
complete divine
complete warrior
complete adventurer
unearthed arcana
dungeon masters guide

Though I do agree that picking up a few levels in bard and going for the Mystic Theurge or Fochlucan Lyrist PrC's would be a nice bonus
