Track - it as a fantastically useful feat - and as a Druid you should have Survival maxed out.

Take a race with a wisdom bonus, and if you can't, put your highest score in wisdom anyway. It not only empowers your spells, but it adds a helpful ability score bonus onto all of your important skills such as Heal, Listen, Spot, Survival, etc.

Also, if you are being a healer, max out ranks in Survival and Heal. If you're going the whole nine yards in helping people heal injuries, consider taking ranks in Profession (Herbalist) or Craft (Alchemy). Try and save your money, although an item enchanting wisdom (Dungeon Master Guide) will greatly help you.

For your other abilities, Dexterity or Charisma will come in handy unless you are looking to be more combat and physical versus mental. An intelligence score helps, but I've found Charisma to be endlessly useful for all situations; especially intimidating and swindling. If you're actually going to role play this druid well, it will come in even more handy by getting the most out of the minimal time you spend in urban environments.

wands of cure spells, that way you don't have to waste all of your spells on preparing cures. As soon as you can, start summoning unicorns as they cast cures as well.

Also I think there is a feat in complete divine that allows druids to spontaneously convert some spells to cures, you might want to check that out. I think you need some ranks in knowledge (religion) in order to qualify.

Edit: Oops, I missed you were stuck to core. I would say then think about taking scribe scroll and scribing some cure spells. Make sure the party helps pay for your wands and scrolls as these are really party goods.

natural spell at level six.

Look at the low level spells splinter bolt and kelp strand in sc. druids get some nice spells in that book.

if you can, max out spot, listen, spellcraft and concentration.

If your going to be a mounted druid, you want to max out your ride too, and if you are going to be a mounted druid, feats for mounted combat work well.

Skills to Get:
Concentration
Heal
Listen
Knowledge (nature) (helps you for epic spells, generally useful, gives synergies)
Spot
Survival

Feats:
Track
Empower Spell
Maximize Spell
Quicken Spell
Sudden (all of the above, except quicken)
-from the complete arcane
-allows you to apply a metamagic feat to a spell once a day

These will help you get better cure spell. They can be expensive spell level wise, so only if u have open slots.

Items:
Rod of Quicken, Max, Empower
-like the "Sudden..." feats except x3 a day. May want to start out with
lesser if u can get.
Periapt of Wisdom
-best one you can afford; this goes above all else item wise

Those are the general ones that I go for. CW Wands are generally good. Unicorns are also helpful because they can heal, but be careful about the time they last. Long enough for a battle, but not anything extended.

The only must-have for any druid the Natural Spell feat (take at level 6). Everything else is customization.

You need to figure out what role you want to play in the party and design your character accordingly. Druids make excellent Summoners/Combatants (lvl 5+)/Spellcasters.

Just a suggestion for a summoner (my favorite - so much versatility, it never gets boring). Note that summoners have to heal less, as the damage your party is dealt is distributed among more creatures:

Race: Human (probably the best of the core races)
Feats: [1] SF: Conjuration, Augment Summoning, [3] Greenbond Summoning (LEoF) / Ashbound Summoning (ECS), [6] Natural Spell, [9] Blindsight (MotW) /Exalted Wildshape (BoED), [12] Dragon Wildshape (draco) [15] Rashemi Elemental Summoning (UE), [18] Quicken Spell

As a healer, get a Wand of Cure Light Wounds / Lesser Vigor (750 gp), memorize spells from the Vigor line (CD), and focus on healing after battles.

Probably the best online resource for druid is the Druid Handbook (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=465005) by A Man In Black and Paradisio. See there for detailed info on the feats.
