Hey guys. Our DM is about to start the Savage Tide AP and he basically has allowed us to take any concept we come up with (within reason of course)
I'm wanting to create a Awakened Gorilla Monk for my character. Any ideas what books I should look into to make this character? I'm willing to buy the ones I need.
Thanks in advance

You just need the Monster Manual for ape stats, the Player's Handbook for the awaken spell and the monk class, and a good guess at a level adjustment.

And because someone has to say it... you'll be a kong-fu master.

Have you heard of the Chinese legend "Journey to the west"? If you're looking for ideas on character development and so on, I strongly recommend looking into it.
The character Sun Wukong/Son Goku would be an excellent source of inspiration for an ape Monk. ;)

And remember; you can make natural attacks in addition to a flurry.

My favourite was my Anthropomorphic Chicken Monk – Master of Cluck Fu.

This is a flavor thing more than anything, but the character should be anything but savage. Dressing in the finest clothes he can find, he strides boldly down the street, speaking to anyone he sees in the most impeccable common. And so on.
