Short and sweet, DM ruled that after a Knights challenge if any player interferes in my combat, I have violated my code and suffer the consequences. His rule overrides all, yet for my peace of mind, is he right?
Personally I dont' liek the idea that my character is responsible (ie. takes a penalty for someone else's actions). He basically set it up now that if they attempt to interfere I have to fight them off as well/ take thier hit, or suffer the -2 to hit and saves for the rest of that day.

Since the implementation of knight's challange is a bit awkward, it's a matter of preferance than right & wrong.

Personally, I think bestowing the penalty for others' folly would be too much.
But then again, it's no big deal, because you can tell your party members not to interfere, beforehand.

That's gimping an already weakly design class. If interfering in combat would cause you to violate your code, it would have said it in the text. Which it doesn't, either in the code section or the Knight's Challenge section or any of the individual knight challenge abilities. Test of Mettle even already outlines what happens if an opponent is attacked by your allies.

If your DM is house ruling not particularly powerful class abilities even weaker, change classes.

PS: Violating the code only expends uses of the Knight's Challenge, unless you are out, then you get -2. Your DM is pwning your character. It would be like saying a Barbarian's Rage is now a Frenzy (a la Frenzied Berserker).

That seems fair, and this is an issue because we have a couple folks in the party that have taken it upon themselves to make certain they interfere whenever I take the full brunt of the penalties. So atm, I'm simply going to ignore this ability and take the free feat and shield bonus. I'm only level 2 atm.

Change yourself into a 2nd level something else. Fighting Challenge is the most useful ability you are going to get and it has enough conditionals without your DM gimping it into oblivion.

DM won't allow changing class. Although in my favor I only have 17 HP, so should be easy to get him killed. Though we just fought some shape shifter dog thingy that could eat souls and had DR/1. Not sure what they were called, in 2 hits I was -8 and they managed to work it out to save me. Our NPC troops were getting ripped to shreds so I issued the challenge to buy some time off of them. Just Ugh.

Honestly It sounds to me like your group or DM either does not like you, or thinks its funny to pick on you. I personally would leave and find another group that actually respects you.

The DM will probably limit any other abilities you happen to have, as he seems to limit random class features. -Knights challenge isnt amazingly good- The players seem to want to just mess with you, by interfearing with you and purposly messing you up. I can see them stomping around loudly as you sneak with your new rogue, or jostling your wizard as he tries to cast some spells.

That said you know the situation better than us, so I might be 100% off base here.

Then suicide and get a new class. You are not going to go anywhere in Knight with its best ability hampered even more than it already is.

I have to agree with the other posters here (though not those that state that the Knight's a generally weak Class). Only Test of Mettle states a side-effect to anyone else joining in, and that is not an effect with gives the Knight a penalty but rather one that allows the NPC in question to break the spell.

Knight's can be wonderful support if played to their full potential.

Generally I wouldn't advise kiling off your PC, but in this case I'm joining in on that advice as well. Go with Fighter. There's not much the DM can take away in the way of class abilities there...

Odly enough that's what I intend at this point. Assumeing they will let my character die. He seems to have a penchant for not letting characters die. We'll fight things that will knock us negative in 1 or 2 hits, but then somehow always manage to come out alive in the the end.

It's not that Knight is a weak class, it is that it wasn't well-thought out. They tried to make it a mounted class and a tank class at the same time and hurt both of them.

Better than the Knight's Challenge is the ability to survive below -10 HP for one round per usage of the ability. This becomes excellent in higher levels (vs. the Terrasque), and allows you to write your will, arrange your affairs and get drunk before your Knight's Challenges run out.

Knight's Challenge: If you don't have it, :mrt:.
