| kyros_the_spawnslayer02-12-08, 04:35 PM | Hopefully this upcoming weekend my local game will start and I am in need to getting my paladin read before then. Okay the storyline is that our team are war-orphans due to a horde of undead and other nasty beasties destroyed our home, but when the Empire's army came in they took us in and trained us to join the militia. Now there is use of flying ships so I decided to lose the special mount since travel won't be an issue. Now I am plaing a paladin below is his set-up to level 20 Name: Ladon Race: Human Ability Scores Str 16 Dex 10 Con 14 Int 10 Wis 10 Cha 14 4th: Con Boost 8th: Con Boost 12th: Str Boost 16th: Str Boost 20th: Cha Boost Note: I plan on obtaining stat boosting gear to allow spellcasting (Periapt of Wisdom +4), a Cloak of Charisma to aid with the Smites/Turning/Lay on Hands, and whatever other stat booster he can get his hands on. Feats 1st – Power Attack / Weapon Focus (Longsword) 3rd – Improved Smiting 6th – Battle Blessing 9th – Divine Might 12th – Divine Shield 15th – Divine Vigor 18th – Extra Smiting Special Trades Special Mount for Divine Spirit |

| kyros_the_spawnslayer02-12-08, 05:02 PM | Well a build that fits him as a Smite-Specialist. Also maybe a little insight on how he should act because right now he is the kind of guy that would willingly stay behind to face a group of enemies charging the team so they have time to prep the ship. Also I kinda was to play him like and "ironman" in that he is more than fine wading into the field of fire, arrows and bullets since there are crude guns in this game as well. Also this is the first time I played a paladin, I have always been the guy to be the wizard or sorcerer, or be a fighter or a ranger. |
| Drackthor02-13-08, 12:48 PM | Well the Iron Man idea is kind of out the window since you have a very low con, moderately low dex, and no intent to boost either stat at the appropriate levels. I mean maybe swap your Str with your con, then swap your Dex with your new str. This way you can have decent Str, while having a much better Con and OK dex, now you stick with your original ability plan to boost up your now average str, and your smiting ability. Ability-wise, with the scores presented, I think that's the best I can manage for an Iron Man Half-Tank Half-Smiter. |
| kyros_the_spawnslayer02-13-08, 06:37 PM | Well the reason I kept my Dex low is because this guy is using full plate so I really don't see a need to get Dex above 10. I guess I will go away from the ironman thing and try to go for a smite specialist, cause I think if I just get my full-plate enchanted to make it hard to hit him. Also I am debating on whether or not playing a paladin would work well since I could just as equal play him as a fighter or a knight and then go into Kensai. The PrC does say it does have a military feel to it. |
