| Rotgiest01-24-06, 07:11 PM | Ok so I am trying to make a Ranger, I have looked through the books but can only find the one Ranger variant that gets ride of spell and gives you some natural spell like abilities, and the urban Ranger. What I what to know is, is there other Ranger variants out there that I can’t find, and if so where? More specifically is there a Ranger variant that does not have an animal companion? |
| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi01-25-06, 01:51 PM | The Mystic Ranger, the Non-Spellcasting Ranger, the Planar Ranger, and the Wild Defender. They all have animal companions. See this page (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Classes-Base.pdf) for details. You'll find data on almost every variant class. Ranger variants begin on p. 67. |

He has a huge amount of spells available, about as many feats available as an ordinary ranger, which are fully selectable. He can even turn undead! The trade-off is no animal companion, and nothing that isn't spells, feats or turning undead. He even stays nature-like! Know what it's called? A Fighter/Cleric of Obad-hai. |

I do know that they have a druid varient that doesn't have an animal companion. I guess that I can try and talk my GM into giving me a feat or 2 instead of an animal companion. |
