So, I'm looking for help fleshing out this character

I want to use the Dual Wand and Reckless Wand feats.

I can make up to a 12th level character with the typical 88,000 starting gold. Im thinking either a straight caster or Rogue with UMD(sweet for SA).

One I am getter for sure is Scorching Ray (CL7, 10500gp) and would like help thinking of a couple more.

All the books are available(no UA) including Dragon mags..

For the character i think im gonna go with the Arcane Trickster (wiz5/Rog3/AT4) If anyone has a better idea...

I'm still looking for quality spells i can fling over and over.

Well, a few that are obvious, to me at least...

Wad of Cure X wounds can be good, and isn't terribly costly if you pick a lesser one. Wand of Fireball is an excellent choice for a "wand slinger", and it's 22,500 at 10th level (10d6). Also, a high level wand of magic missle can be surprisignly powerful (only 6,750 at 9th level caster).

Some others that I find very useful
Dispel Magic (11,250)
Web (4.500)
Hold Person (4,500)
Stoneskin (37,700, but you could argue it's worth it)

And, for the rest, if you have money, just try to pick the wands that make the biggest explosions, and you'll be fine.

Awsome idea, btw.

The best want users are hand's down artificers. They're in the Ebberon campaign setting. They are entirely based on wands, staffs, and all of that.

Yeah, you can not go wrong with a Wand of Magic Missile. The handguns of D&D.

I had thought of a simular concept. Kind of a wild west gun slinger, but D&D style.

Assuming he's human, and going straight wizard, that would allow for 8 feats at lvl 12. Among them should be the following; craft wand, quick draw, improved initiative, Dual wand, and reckless wand user. You may want to also consider the channel charge feat. This will let you preserve the life of wands that you can't make yourself. Be sure to max up the Use Magic Devices feat, as you can then use wands of healing and such, and help the channel charge feat.

I was also considering talking to the DM about getting special wand holsters made. Basically they are 3 small metal tubes, that the tops can be flipped to the side, strapped together in a leather brace and tied to a belt, and tied down just below the knees. This should allow for up to six wands ready for quick draw. These will be offensive wands. Utility ones will be kept in the back.

I haven't played Eberron yet, but if there is a class that can cut costs or reduce creation time I would look into it.

Only thing that has held me back, is that I don't know how effective this type of character would be in the late teens and up. Still, it sounds fun. Let me know how it works out.

Heh, going straight wizard I wouldn't imagine you having many problems at higher levels, I mean you are a HIGH level wizard.

No matter which route I go I would do this for more thematic purposes than character effectiveness, although bad times for double casting magic missles or fireballs should few and far between. The only thing im really looking to invest are the 2 feats(and pre-reqs) and a bunch of gold. In the end I could play the part of the blaster or the skill monkey:cool:...
