Help...Hiding and Spring Attack? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-07-06, 11:12 AM I have a quick question regarding Hiding/Hide in Plain Sight and utilizing it in combat.

One of my characters is a Shadowdancer (1)/Ninja (9) who has Spring attack. In game I have been moving up to random opponents and hiding as I move, striking (gaining sudden strike damage if they do not spot me) and moving away with Spring Attack.

My question is as follows: Are you limited to the number of times you can hide per round? Can my character move up to an opponent while attempting to hide, strike and then move away utilizing Spring Attack and attempt a hide as he is moving away?

Thanx to all who offer their insight to my and my groups dilema.

Yes.

06-07-06, 04:03 PM if you have cover the entire way you're golden. If not I think there are rules in complete adventurer for it. You'll need a decent speed to pull it off or an amazing hide check.

06-07-06, 04:50 PM sounds kosher, just dont forget your penalties, from the srd:

When moving at a speed greater than one-half but less than your normal speed, you take a –5 penalty. It’s practically impossible (–20 penalty) to hide while attacking, running or charging.
