I was thinking of RP'ing as a Mohrg, along with a friend who was going to play as a Ghoul...Thing is, undead arn't exactly the easiest to turn into a PC and while I have already been given the okay by my DM, I don't know what "rules" I should discuss with my DM to make it so that while I do take into account the disadvantages of being undead, I don't just get miserable with having my character being permently distroyed, but isn't unfair to the people who want to have living PC's

If you haven't already, definately read Libris Mortis. It discusses the pros and cons of having undead PCs, and even gives ideas to use specific undead with certain classes. (If your a mohrg, I suggest fighter IMO) Avantages are obvious: d12 hit die, a long list of immunities, interesting character options, special abilities, tons of feats that are usually unavailabe to you, and so on. There is some disavantages too of course. Heroes will hate you, as will most good towns, (and even some evil ones). You are destrayed at 0 hp, as opposed to just unconcious, and you can be turned/rebuked by clerics. You usually can't run, healing magic hurts you, and those d12 hit die aren't that great considering you have no constitution score. It could be fun though, I admit. I've been wanting to play a mummy monk.

Deathless can be ressurected and they are effected by positive energy in a good way, but a deathless Mohrg (ex-massmurderers turned tentacled king of zombie armies) is just silly.

A mohrg has ECL 20, so it isn't really that great, since you end up with no actual class levels.

Taking a look at, say, the Ghoul build from Savage Species (adjusting for a 3.5 update, obviously) would be a good idea... I don't recall if the Mohrg is in there, but...

libris mortis has rules for playing mourghs and ghouls, personly id go for a lich or mumified creature though since they are templates so you can take class levels

You might want to go with a necropolitan character instead.
However I look at the mhorg PC class, no way is it worth 20 lvs...:weep:

For undead characters, Improved Toughness is your friend.
+1 hp/lvl is equivalent to having a 12 con.

Libris Mortis contains five [I think] undead that can be played as characters, along with templates for some more. There is also another book [Im sorry I cant remember which it is] which contains a corpse creature race along with two other undead races [bone and somthing uberly great]. If someone could advise to which books the later races are in it would be great :D

Book of Vile Darkness.
It has both the Bone template and Corpse template.
One of them doesn't have alignment restrictions either!
