| Asciiman02-18-06, 05:07 PM | Hide in Plain Sight can not be seen by any normal and most magical means. Darkvision, True Sight, See Invisibilty all change nothing. When a person hides, a person can only roll spot to see them and this can be modified by things like Glitterdust. The reason for this is because hiding never actually makes anyone invisible, it just makes them not be easily percieved. |
| Vaelan02-18-06, 08:09 PM | The official ruling is that shadows exist independently of one's perceptions, and thus a character with Darkvision gains no advantage against a character with Hide in Plain Sight. This is the only rational conclusion one can draw, as Shadowdancers, who have several abilities that require shadows within a certain distance, gain Darkvision. If Darkvision eliminated the existence of shadows. their class abilities would be entirely unusable. |
