| CrabHeart01-23-07, 08:42 AM | we have a drow and a mind flayer in the party... the drow could probubly wear a mask and a cloak but the mind flayer cant live in the light rite? |
| Radijs01-23-07, 09:59 AM | Light won't kill a mindflayer. The angry mob might... I suggest you get the mind flayer a hat of disguise or something similar. That ought to help. |
| DarkNick01-23-07, 02:48 PM | Are you the DM? If you are then I suggest you either set adventures somewhere where these things don't matter. Alternatively just let is slide - its a strange world, people will stare but otherwise not take much notice. If you are a player then maybe you could talk to the DM, ask him if hiding their identity is going to matter. |
| CrabHeart01-23-07, 05:32 PM | nope im just a player... |
| mcnoo01-23-07, 07:14 PM | Hide them in a portable hole, then bury it, for kicks. |
| DarkNick01-23-07, 07:23 PM | Well, if the DM has allowed those races then hiding them should not be a problem unless the DM specified that it was going to be a problem. If it is a problem then let those particular players worry about it. If worst comes to worst you can pretend that they had enslaved you. Angry mob kills mindflayer and dark elf, those players make up new characters, problem solved. ;) |
| PhaedrusXY01-23-07, 08:12 PM | Hat of Disguise. |
| Fatalis_90201-23-07, 09:16 PM | Hat of disguise works, until the party gets within 60' of an illithid slayer. Then the issues start. |
| Kradlo01-24-07, 02:17 PM | You have a party member that eats the brains of sentient beings, and you're wondering how to hide him? The one that should be hiding is you, and I mean from your fellow players. Face it, boy, you're on the menu. :P |
| DarkNick01-24-07, 02:30 PM | Hey, is that a mindflayer in your pocket? |
| Fatalis_90201-24-07, 04:55 PM | Hey, is that a mindflayer in your pocket? If it is, I'll have to kill you for harboring illithids. |
| DarkNick01-24-07, 06:14 PM | If it is, I'll have to kill you for harboring illithids. Always wear protection, you don't want to get infected with illithiads....I also heard you can catch them off toilet seats. Always check for tenticles. |
| Fatalis_90201-24-07, 08:51 PM | Always wear protection, you don't want to get infected with illithiads....I also heard you can catch them off toilet seats. Always check for tenticles. Where...the...CRAP did that come from? |
| DarkNick01-24-07, 09:48 PM | Just random junk. I started thinking about Mindflayers in the pocket and made a strange leap to thinking about illithiads as a kind of fantasy sexually transmitted disease :yuck:.....made perfect sense at the time. :looloo: |
| LiefKarakse01-24-07, 09:49 PM | Hey, is that a mindflayer in your pocket? no I'm just happy to see you |
| DarkNick01-24-07, 09:50 PM | no I'm just happy to see you  |
| PiedmonSama01-25-07, 02:36 AM | Bundle up his tendrils, wrap him up in rags like a mummy and tell people he's got leprocy..... the added benefit is no one will want to be near him, so they won't be inspecting too closely. Just try to avoid using the ruse around charitable clerics. It might also make getting him in and out of walled cities a problem. Basically, with "monstrous" PCs, the thing to do is get someone in the party with a decent Survival skill and live in the wilderness. If the Mind Flayer needs to buy something from town, give a normal PC a "shopping list" and a bag of gold (make sure he's trustworthy too, obviously.) |
