How can I find a group in my area? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I was wondering how to get in contact with other D&D groups in my area? There aren't any RPGA events where I live and I haven't seen a RPG hobby shop for a long time. An anime shop is much easier to find here. :weep:

Does anyone have ideas where I can go? I'm itching to play a D&D or Eberron game. It doesn't the people around me aren't fans of this kind of stuff. If I try to introduce the idea, all I get is the "D&D is evil" or "D&D is for dorks & losers" lecture. :weep:

By the way, I live in Los Angeles, CA. Any help is much appreciated!

P.S. It's gotten to the point where I'm programming video game versions of my favorite modules as a side hobby. Sad, isn't it?

Quite simple. Go to the RPG Gamer Classifieds (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=347). You can post that you're looking for a group and/or reply to people in your area that have already posted.

Oh, and the RPGA events are in Anaheim. :D

11-17-06, 03:23 PM I recommend joining a Meetup group for D&D. You should be able to find one in your area, and they'll meet once a month.

In the Grand Rapids area of Michigan, I was able to find players right off the bat (I moved here in March from California).
