| Trean_McClan05-16-07, 07:10 PM | I apologize if this has already come up in the forums, but I seldom check them. The other day I was playing my favorite wizard, and since I was getting high in the level department, I decided to make a construct or two. My problem is that I want to make up my own constructs, but I can’t seem to find any extensive rules on the subject. What I’m mainly looking for is an effective way to calculate gp cost and level requirements. If any one has any ideas on how to do this please send it my way. Thanks, Trean |

| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi05-17-07, 08:45 PM | Encyclopedia Arcane: Constructs (http://www.enworld.org/reviews.php?do=review&reviewid=2010182). Sounds like exactly what you want. |

On a game Iīm DMing one of my players wanted an iron golen with a little modifications - he havent told me all the spell-related/powers that was/will be modified so the golem so far is melee-only. So far the golem in question is Huge - one size class above normal large iron golens - so all costs were multiplied by 4 (iīm using the price modification for magical itens for biger/smaller characters.. not sure if itīs on the DMG or PHB).. For all extra powers or power modifications I shall price them as per magical itens, either normal permanent (CL*Lvl*2k... most likely with a X2 for a slotless iten) or for bigger creatures (same as before with a X4 for each size increase.. X16 for huge)... It might get costy.. but from a point of view, itīs the first of itīs kind, while "normal" golems have a known and practiced "receipt" or "how-to", so a higher cost would make sense if thatīs the case. Other modifications would be harder to adjudicate... yet something sparks up in my mind: You could calculate the price (by the method above) for itīs spell-based powers; then split the remaining price by itīs HDs for a X/HD ratio/price.. This could be used as a guide for any extra HD or any "extra" that would grant it a +1 LA (Savage Species can be handy in here). That at least is howīIīll do it. ;) Hope it helps... good luck... and take care. |
