Hi all,

How does a rogue bypass or neutralize the spell Alarm?

UMD with a wand of dispel magic will work at low levels. If higher, cloak of etherealness or the like (as alarm does not respond to coterminous planes).

Actually, there's another fun way to do it:
-Catch some small, furry animals
-Hide somewhere close to the alarm
-Throw the animal through the alarm zone (the alarm is triggered by anything tiny and larger)
-Giggle when the wizard comes checking
-Wait until the wizard has gone away
-Repeat step 3 to 5 until the wizard dispels the alarm himself because he wants his damn sleep

And here, gentlemen, I present you with the second discovered use of a Bag of Tricks besides disabling traps.

Next question then, How does a rogue notice an alarm spell?

Detect magic. Very easy to get and a must have for Rogues in high magic settings.

Try to get it as an At Will wondrous item - shouldn't be that expensive.

In fact, a level-0-spell cast at caster level 1 and use-activated or continous would be 1000 gp as an item. Not exactly pricey, but quite useful.
