I am currently playing in a campain as a 11th level sorcerer who is studying to become a lich. i was just about ready make the potion (having already made the soul gem thing) when the party was attacked by a vampire. the Vamp killed me by pinning me and sucking me dry. so i died and the DM secretly rolled to see how long before i rose as a vampire. I was getting ready to roll up and new character when the team desided to all through in and get a cleric to cast true reserection on me so i wouldn't lose a level. so i came back the next day and then made my potion and went into lich-hood. which was all fine and dandy untell the 4th day after i had been killed came up. at that point i was supposed to rise as a vampire. Heres where the question comes in. we are playing by 3.0 rules and the rules with the vampire says only that you raise up as a vampire 1d4 days latter. It never specifys what would happen if you were to be reserected or anything like that. what would happen if my character had been reanimated using the reanimate undead spell? so the question is am i now a vampire lich? or just a lich? any insight would be great, thanks!

SRD:
True Resurrection
Conjuration (Healing)

Level: Clr 9

Casting Time: 10 minutes
This spell functions like raise dead, except that you can resurrect a creature that has been dead for as long as 10 years per caster level. This spell can even bring back creatures whose bodies have been destroyed, provided that you unambiguously identify the deceased in some fashion (reciting the deceased’s time and place of birth or death is the most common method).

Upon completion of the spell, the creature is immediately restored to full hit points, vigor, and health, with no loss of level (or Constitution points) or prepared spells.

You can revive someone killed by a death effect or someone who has been turned into an undead creature and then destroyed. This spell can also resurrect elementals or outsiders, but it can’t resurrect constructs or undead creatures.

Even true resurrection can’t restore to life a creature who has died of old age.

Material Component: A sprinkle of holy water and diamonds worth a total of at least 25,000 gp.

I may be thinking too quickly, but I think the true resurrection cancelled out the raising as a vampire. From the point that you died- you were dead. At this point you were *not* undead.
You wouldn't have become undead until 1d4 days later, which by your post that did not happen, you were raised before then, so you avoided vampirism.

So you were true-raised, normal being. Then ou did your lich thing, so now you're just a lich, not a vampire-lich.

Added note: Since the true-resurrection worked, your DM seemed to rule that you were dead and not undead when the vampire killed you. If he had ruled you were undead right at that moment true-resurrection wouldn't have worked if following the RAW, you'd have had to be destroyed then raised again for the spell to work.
