What is the largest number of gods that you have ticked off and managed to survive? I had half-copper dragon twins who annoyed Nerull, Hextor and another god named Sirius(I think). You annoy a god by destroying avatars, descrating or destroying temples, or making a general nuisance of yourself in his/her plots for world domination.

Well in a campaign a long time ago me and my party managed to annoy, Bane, Myrkul, Kelemvor, Fake Mystra and Cyric.

In a certain campaign a group I knew annoyed the 4 Overgods that ruled the universe where they where in (custom-made campaign), leading to the collapsing of the said universe... Kids, never try this at home.

Reminds me of a campaign where we my character managed to trick his way into meeting the controling forces of the universe, who were three ordinary seeming people. (or at least from the dimensional angles i could percive, phyics students can come up with such interesting planar mechanics) They represented good, neutrality and evil, and were locked in a discworld-esque board game that was a hell of a lot like d&d, except they were all controling every being of thier alignment rather than onc echaracter. The evil one was chuckling away, wining easily all the time, the good one was a whiny little ***** saying "oh come on, i never get to play evil, next time it's my turn" and complaining to the neutral one, who was acting a lot like a DM.
Well, being a drow rogue, i did the only thing i could do. I gave good a bloody nose ("so, you're the bloke who made paladins?" *thump*), spent the whole time slagginf off neutral, and in a bizare turn of events, slept with evil's sister, a charming young strumpet named chaos.
Despite ticking off the controlers of all things, i try and keep on good terms with the gods. Or rather, i don't give any actual praise to them, but treat them as eaquals, the highest level of my respect. When being attacked by undead, it's not entirely rare to hear this character mutter "You know pelor, you could try pulling your weight, i'm sure i'm doing YOUR job here" or similar. Oddly enough, the gods seem to tolerate this approach and any cleric divining to check tends to find i'm not in thier god's bad books, despite my utter disrespect for clerics. The DM says this is for a reason, and i have a sneaking suspicion that it's because the gods know something about my future i don't, either i'm going to do something they all want done, such as save the entire universe, including them, or ascend to become the king of the gods and rule them all. I'm hoping for the second.

My friends and I managed to pis off all the evil gods and half of the neutral god's. Are mission was given to us in the campaign by by the three main god's we had to take the sigil's from all the temples of each god to prevent the apocalypse all the evil god's wanted and half of the neutral god's became angry because we didn't show the proper respect when we took the sigil's from their temple.

My uncle sacked Asgaard with his party way way back during the D&D 1st ed. basic times.

Myself? I've never really ****** off gods before. We're always on good speaking terms. Sure, my parties have destroyed tons of shrines to Cyric and Bane (We're very FR-oriented). They've fought legions of evil troops raised in the name of Kossuth, and once we even decided to mess with the church of Shar, but never has the diety been so upset by us that they dropped everything to target the party.

When I was in a particularly high-powered solo game, I got sick of the gods' meddling in the affairs of men. I visited the realms of the gods to ask for their help against a "rogue" god who wanted to cleanse the world of sin by killing everyone, they told me it was my business. Being a paladin, this made me sick, so I told them I would deal with it, but they had better "deal" with the consequences of what I did. So I left and found the rogue god. I fought him (he was in a weaker avatar form) to a standstill, we just couldn't significantly hurt each other. But nonetheless, he left and I earned more than one enemy that day, him and his "mates". (yes, even gods have cliques)

This is task number one for my character. Every evil god my character meet wants to kill me. Their minions are afraid of me which makes it so much fun. Well first of all, all the gods a custom made by my DM. The first god i ticked off was the god of the of fire and orcs. I did it by destroying a vast number of his minions while he was just reserected into life and one of his most powerful minion fell at my hands. The second is the god of the shadow world by multiple reasons. First i killed him in a lesser form 4 times already weakening him, killed his wife.... she hates me to.... killed his gardian.... stole his pet and made it mine which really ticked him... closed a portal that bridged his world with our... oh and best of all stopping him from comming into my world forever. All i need to do is find his children. Then their is the god of nature (evil) which i stopped him and freed the other god of nature
(good) The queen of shadows which is the gods of shadows wife. Some wierd dragon god who leads a cult group that im currently hunting down. Reasons for hateing me is i killed alot of his cult group, refused to join his side even though im a draconian, and becoming a thorn in his side because i stopped attacks from his cult trying to take 2 towns.

Fluff-wise, i wouldn't pi** off a god because they're supposed to be incredibly powerful. Much beyond the scope of a character. If you anger one god, you'd better have another backing you up. And by backing you up i don't mean "Yeah, he's a good guy, i don't mind him", i mean one that's willing to step in to defend you.

By the rules, i wouldn't want to anger major gods because of a little thing called a Salient Divine Ability: Annihilating Strike. Fortitude save 20 + divine rank (minimum 11) + damage inflicted on you. And since most greater deities deal at least 40 damage with one hit, the lowest possible save would be 71. Hehehe....

Well, if there's a god in the real world, I've ****** him off plenty. Apart from the standard atheism that tends to annoy deities, I've also done the following:

Pretending to sacrifice people on the altar of a RC church.
Converting people away from christianity.
Getting into arguments with clergy.
Being referred to by a vicar as "the spawn of Satan"

and quite a lot more. But strangely I try not to annoy the gods in D&D. I fear their wrath.

I had one CG cleric of trickery that constantly befouled temples of the God of Justice.

Needless to say, I eventually was served justice.

I destroyed the snake goddess alter. that got her attention. Then i stole an artific from one of her followers. Another attention graber. Then i laid waist to a bunch of her followers while they were tying to kill me ( hey i did not know she doubled as the assasins god) after doing that i tack down the lich that wass the head of the assasins. destroyed him and his phylactory. Now She is officialy ****** at me .. so much so that she attempted to kill my dog (fammiliar). The realy pisser is she cant do anything direcly to me because i am the cleric of an opposing faith ((evil grin))

Let's see... well I used to play BoVD style with a necromancer, roaming
'round the countryside with wraiths, ghouls, and spectres and a devourer to keep me company. Ah, those were the glory days. I desecrated every temple I came across, ****** off every god I could, and when my spectre army was large enough, I even went so far as to make an assault on hell itself (the essence of evil is being able to kill anyone you want whenever you want, be it demons or angels, I figured demons were easier pickings for me little army). ME and my army of kick-ass spectres damn near made it to Asmodeus before my DM decided it was time for a little divine intervention. Next thing ya know, angels swooping in left and right attacking my beautiful spectres and the demons too, everything in sight was being massacred. I could see where that was going and I didn't want to have any part of it so I plane shifted/teleported home. Still though, I think I got just about every good god, and a couple of evil ones. Not bad if you ask me.

Well, there was the time my tiefling rogue tried stealing something from Bahamut's hoard... :) Of course, after getting through all the traps, there wasn't anything there, the bastard knew what I was up to and moved it all. I so should have been eaten for that...

All PHB deities. I was playing Slade the rogue/ninja/assassin, because in the video game slade upgrades to ninja and I choose assasin because it is more combat oriented. Stealing relics, killing priests who refused to heal people for free, killing evil priests because they're evil, burning churches believing that all deities were indeed truely evil, pretty much killing lots of things, made a guild in a metropolise that already had two guilds, killed off both guilds, then we looted all churches and burnt them, & the journey goes on. We avoided killing paladins though.

Healing was a problem; well not really. some of the party had fast healing or regeneration. The ranger healed me. I had a wand of cure light wounds at most times. High AC type of character.
