okay on pg. 193 of the PHB in the bottom right you see the following spells:

Dimensional Anchor, Fire Trap, Globe of Invulnerability Lesser, and Remove Curse

of those spells one has an M next to it: fire trap, meaning there is a material component. however, globe has a material component, but no M next to it. this is the only time i noticed this, but it does present a problem as a PC may forget that it has a material component since it isn't noted there. i saw no note of this in the errrata so im led to believe this is the only occurance or that it is a rare occurance.

im wondering if it is a rare occurance or not because it is a problem if this happens too much.

thanks,

The M superscript on the spell lists indicates that the spell requires an extraordinary material component, one that has a gold cost. Other spells not marked with an M may have material components, but they are assumed to be in the caster's component pouch since they are common, cheap components.

If for some reason the caster loses his gear, including component pouch, then you'd have to worry about whether and what material components all his spells require. Otherwise assume he has everything he needs for normal components.
