How often do you game? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I've been playing D&D for about a year and a half now, with decreasing regularity. In the beginning we could play a few times a week. Now I game about once every other month, due to school and work getting in the way.

I was just looking through another thread and saw a person who had a marathon gaming session in where he made it from level one to twenty over one summer, and I was floored by the awesomeness (...is that a word?) of the idea, expecially over my current situation.

So, just wondering. How often do you all get to game (DM or Play)?

My party pretty muchg gets together once every week (usually Saturday). We like to take up the better part of the day/night playing for up to 6 or 8 hours.

We tend to level up every meeting (once per week) and so we can blast through a campaign in 20 weeks. It usually works out that we all want to start again when we get around level 12.

We game at the least once a week on a Friday, we also have a Saturday game :) The only time that we don't have a game is when finals are approaching.

We game every Second Sunday, for about 4-5 hours.
Our group has been going since 1984 and at our peak we used to game every Saturday for about 6-8 hours, but the real world intruded into our lives!

The best I've ever had was roughly four games a week, playing in two D&D games, one Rifts game, and running a D&D game of my own

I play in a game fridays, dm one sundays, and play in a once a week one shot of nond20 games on wensdays. usually something like rifts paranoia ect.

Fridays tend to last the longest, 6-10 hours depending because no one has class saturday. but recently my games have been going a steady 7 or 8 as i dont have class till 2 pm. wensdays last about 6 hours tops.

Currently, every weekend (usually Saturday night). We play from around 6-7pm until 2-4am. Unfortunately we game with a couple of lightweights as far as the lateness goes, so we occasionally shut down earlier.

I used to game in a real on-and-off group that constantly had last minute schedule changes and cancellations. It drove me crazy. It's really nice to get back to a reliable weekly game.

Presently, I am in two games, one running weekly and the other biweekly. Both tend to run between three and four hours per session. Actually, I'm technically in another, but it's only meeting about twice a year, so it doesn't really count.

Twice a week, two separate campaigns. One is D&D all the time (going through Age of Worms from Dungeon) and the other is D&D now but will soon be GURPS Traveller.

It goes in cycles... depending on the curveballs the real world decides to throw at you.

Currently we play once a week (normally on Saturday) for about 6-8 hrs.

However, there have been periods in the past where work schedules and other RL issues transpired to make it where we could only game 2 days a month, 1 day a month, or not at all (for a stretch of time).

We've been on a good run of "once a week" for about a year now. The Christmas season will put a damper on it a bit (I know I'll be out of town for a couple weeks, as will another member of the group)... but things should fall back into place thereafter. :)

We try to game every other week, but recently real life has intruded and we've been doing it every 3-5 weeks instead.

My group meets regularly every Friday from 6pm-12pm (sometimes we play on weekends instead if we can't meet Friday). We would meet more but school/college/work/real-life kinda restricts things :)

The group I am currently playing with gets together every third Saturday night. We switch houses every other (give or take) game night. We get togather around 4:00 eat some dinner, then get down to playing until we are spent. Usually ends around midnight.
We all have wives so this schedule has worked for all involved ;)

Not as much as I'd like to. ^^;

Currently, I play in one D20 Modern/Urban Arcana game set in Sigil, with the group meeting every other Sunday. The people have, so far, been really awesome, and I'd love to play more often, but, I feel like It'd be rude to ask. [The impression has been that we're already asking too much of the DM and his family. : /]

Probably would be if I got the reference. (I still don't. May be because the movie was made three years prior to my birth.)

One and a half hours on Wednesday, then 4 hours on Saturday. But our DM also enjoys doing mini solo campaigns for a day if a player gets separated from the party :)

I game on wednesday nights from 6-10ish, saturdays from 2pm-late, and I run an Eberron game on sundays from 12pm-6pm (which, incidentally, is the only D&D that I play in any given week).

I'm currently in about 4 games.

In the one here at college, we have a group that plays every Wednesday night from about 5:00pm until 11:00 or midnight (or 9:30 if we have to game at the local gaming store).

The three games at home (play in two, DM the other) are just whenever everyone is home from college at the same time. The one I DM just started over Thanksgiving Break, but the other two we haven't played since maybe August or September because people playing it were all away. It makes me sad, because those were the games with some of my favorite characters, and I think everyone else has just sort of given up on those.

My current gang plays for 8 to 10 hours on Thursday or Friday its been going on for about a year and a half. Me my wife and a friend from work and now we will be accepting 1 to 2 more around January 1st. I also play in a game on Sundays, but that has been lacking as of late due to work and player turn out. This is with my inlaws :hides: :gah: :ghosted: :OMG!

I feel your pain.
I play D&D with the same group of about 4-5 people. The problem is who is DM. There's really only one of us (sadly not myself) who can really control the crowd and get us going as DM. He renounced it because he liked playing to. Sadly he is one of the worst players I know. One hell of a DM though. He is the only person I know who can play a lawful good paladin and still kill NPC's for no reason. Everyone else I play with can't DM for their lives except for my brother. He has these great ideas but is totally disrespected.
As of now I play in two campains. One with my brother as DM and one as one of my old party members as DM.
I sometimes think that playing D&D is like a phase. I don't know. I seem to be the only one everynight that doesn't want to delay... ::sigh::

I was in two games, a group that met on weekdays for about 4-5 hours, and a group that met on Sunday afternoon for about 6-7 hours. Unfortunately it got the point where I couldn't fit 12 hours of D&D into my life, so I dropped Sunday dropped.
