I need some advices and tactics to kill a powerful foe... In this campaign we have a party consisiting of lvl 21 half celestial monk, lvl 20 lich wizard, lvl 6/13 human fighter/druid (my character), lvl 6/7 human sorcerer/bloodmagus and lvl 6/7 human cleric/osteomancer. When our wizard was corrupt and became a lich and became evil, all of us also follow the vile life (become evil alignment) EXcEPT! from one, the lawful, good, lvl 21 half-celestial monk, this pc is very powerful he has very high abilities (average of 25), high saving throw, high AC, high SR, and deals high points of damage(ave. of 40/attack). With High ECL, w/ celestial abilities and w/ complete expensive battle gears, this PC is a "one kind of a heck" that can wipe us all. But there's one thing, he still doesn't know our plan to betray him, he only know that he is still part of the party..... hhhhmmmm?  what could be the ambush plan??? the only option for us is IN HIS SLEEPING TIME..... :D :P

ANY ADVICES WILL BE GREAT HELP...... TNX

One suggestion: lower his mobility. If he can't fly/run at you, then you'll be fine further than arm's reach from him. Monk's are great, but almost nothing if they are unable to connect their punches. I'd say have one of the casters cast a spell forcing the Monk to be unable to fly, and to slow him down.

Another good chance would be to drop his ability scores. Not even to 0, per se, just at all, that'll hinder him pretty heavily. I'd go with Dexterity, to make him easier to hit, but there are 3 spellcasters(4, really, if you're a Druid), so I'm gonna say to drop his Wisdom by any means necessary. Lower his AC and his Will saves simultaneously.

After you've done either of those, I'm sure that if the other 3 casters shouldn't have much trouble picking him apart like vultures through spells and various other methods. Also, depending on your Animal Companion, utilizing that to distract in combat will be fantastic. Is it a Wolf? Trip him. Every chance you get, even if you can't beat him in Trips, keep trying.

EDIT: I almost forgot, do you(or party) have any means by which to induce Negative Levels? Those will be a bane to him like you wouldn't believe. Enervation's good. The stacking penalty to saves/rolls/checks will almost certainly cause his downfall.

If the Half-Celestial Monk can't figure out that the Vile characters are out to get him...well, you're probably already halfway to victory.

BTW, not to be a pain but, it looks like the entire party has flipped on this character, and now plans to kill him. I'd suggest trying to fix things OOC before possibly irritating a fellow player. After all, the party has basically left him, not the other way around.

Yeah, but that's not vile, that's everyday, simple evil. That'll end up really making him mad, OOC. "ROFL, hey, dood, we stabbed j00 in ur sl33p!" That kinda tomfoolery isn't befitting to a Lich. :D Way below him, those are common Goblin tactics.

Cou de grace: In case I spelled it incorrectly: Its the way of attacking a helpless opponent allowing for a quick kill.

well ok Coup d'gras is the sissy's way out I admit. But its effective..

anyways, killing someone directly is much too pedestrian for a lich....you guys are so high level that surely you've all made contacts with 'other-worldly' beings from the nether regions of the cosmos? Surely at least some of them would jump at the chance to rend/maim/torture a celestial. Heck, it probably wouldnt even cost you much to make a deal with them...

I don't think its the sissy way out, I think its the boring way out. How anti-climactic is that, an ECL 24 character just stabbed in his sleep. Its just uninventive, I think.
