| Omaha_beach11-26-03, 10:13 AM | Allrighty then, I have just been level drained...so I loose a hit die...which in my case was a 3. So now I am ready to get some more experience and gain a level... so do I get my lousy 3 back or can I roll again as I gain the same level? I should mention that I had just started on lvl 7, was thrown into a fight with a Devourer and was drained one level. Therefore I know that the last hit die I rolled was a 3. So what do I do when I gain lvl 7 once again? Roll or just get the 3 back? cheers Chrash |

| Octiron11-26-03, 12:34 PM | This is another reason I use fixed HPs. (half max +1) per level. |
| Kronk LaSworda11-26-03, 12:47 PM | You do everything fresh. You re-roll hitpoints. You re-spend skill points. You could choose a new feat if you lost/regained one due to the level drain and re-advancement. You could choose a different class this time around. But talk to your GM about multiclassing, he may impose limits. You do everything fresh. |

Although I'd like to point you to an idea furthered by Andy Collins about not using permanent level loss at all - The High Cost of Dying (http://www.andycollins.net/Theories/dying.htm). (I guess you'd probably have to run it by your DM. ;) |
