How do you find out what your hp is???

Easy, throw yourself of a 10 foot high balcony. If you survive, you have more then 1-6 hp! Take the time to fully heal then do it again from a 20 foot high balcony. Repeat until you don't survive then you would have a range bracket from which you can average your HP. :P

Now, if you explain a bit more your question I might get a better answer for you! ;)

Locate that big rectangular block 'o' inked wood pulp with 'Player's Handbook' written on the front, grip one of the long edges and lift. Did it open?

Okay, rotate it 180 degrees and try again.

Good. Read the words inside.

In the meantime a character gets his full HD of Hp (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12) plus his Constitution modifer at level one. thereafter he rolls a die of the appropriate size and adds his Constitution modifier.

I am sorry if the above seems rude - I'd not like you to get the impression that DnD is an unfriendly game, but this is a questionw hich can be asnwered in nine seconds just be reading the book it's on page six.

Welcome to the boards, sasuke194. Here, we eat our young. :P ;)

Although your question did bring to mind an idea fit for Order of the Stick or Knights of the Dinner Table:

Ranger: So the DM won't let us know how many HP we have, eh? We'll see about that. Rufus, what's your strength mod?
Sorceror: +0.
Ranger: Perfect! Okay, take my dagger. Now, a dagger does an average of 2.5 hp of damage (plus or minus 1.5 hp) per successful attack. So just stab me over and over until I pass out, and we'll multiply the number of stabs to figure out my hit points.
Bard: Isn't that dangerous?
Ranger: Don't be silly! Even allowing for a critical hit, there's no way a dagger can possibly hurt me badly enough that Miggle over there can't cure me up lickety-split. And this is valuable combat-oriented data. So start a-stabbing!

Yep. I could see that happening, only except Belkar would be doin' the a-stabbin', and probably on Miko or Elan (for those of you who don't follow OOTS, Belkar is the 'Chaotic-Stupid' halfling ranger, Miko is the typical 'Detect and Smite' paladin, and Elan is the dim-witted bard.)

As to the OP: *sigh* IF you must know RIGHT NOW, then you need to train up on your SRD-Fu (www.d20srd.org) . Should be in there. But don't stop at HP. Read the ENTIRE THING in the player's section! chances are, if you had to make an emergency post on finding out your HP, then you are what we WoW gamers call a 'newblet' to DnD, and chances are, if you don't know something as simple as HP, you're going to wind up asking even more questions that are solved just by READING THE FREAKING BOOKS!

Lies! The formula for hp is |(sin(π±√(i+x³))/(cos(x+7)²)|, where x is your level.

And that's before the errata.

Are those trig functions in radians or degrees?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to know a character's Armor Class and Hit Points at the same time. While you can find out the probable range for either value, the more precisely you nail down one figure the less certain the other number gets. Your only recourse is to integrate the sum of the arcsines repeatedly until you get a complex number of the form 3x+5i where x is equal to your character's age modifer.

Or you can just be Pun-Pun. Then you can have all the hit points you want.
